Post Blizzard Beauty

Post Blizzard Beauty

Phew! That was quite the storm we had. After over 30 cm fell with winds gusting and drifts building, we have sunny (but cold) skies today. The kids & I went outside while J plowed through the snow with his trusty shovel. We only have one shovel so I was stuck taking pictures :D I think later today J is going out to buy another shovel, hehe!Sledding!

The kids do so well out in the snow. I thought my kids were water babies, but I am beginning to think they are snow babies! Oddly Becca eats a lot of it. Despite our dire warnings not to eat any yellow snow! Ethan putters about in the less snow covered areas, as he still gets stranded if the snow gets too deep!

Once J was done shoveling there was the perfect little hill for sledding. Sadly Ethan was frozen and ready to go inside, however Becca remained out, sledding for another half an hour! I love my house! I love my yard! We live in the side of a hill, making it perfect for adventure.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I am hosting a great contest over at Being Savvy Halifax, that you should all enter. I always have the hope that it will be a reader of mine that wins!

That looks great! You know, from my couch :-) .

I would think being pregnant would get you out of shoveling. And then having a baby. And then watching a toddler. How long can you work this for?

James was so jealous when my sister wrote she had ice in her house. Kids.

Okay this makes me a big homesick. While they haven’t had any big blizzards yet where I’m from, I definitely have fond memories of these kinds of blizzards from childhood! Your kiddos are so lucky to have parents like you that let them go out and enjoy it!

The kids looks like they are having fun in the snow. I can’t believe how much there is. Where I am was warm today. I have not seen any snow and it’s rare for it to happen. Honestly, I love looking at it, but not driving in it. Have a great weekend.

  6. We have a 7 car driveway – there’s no way you’d catch me shovelling! I thought of you when I saw the forecast for Halifax, I’m glad you guys are alright and didn’t lose power.

  8. Hahah Holly! I agree – never shovel unless you absolutely have to. It looks great there – we had -45 wind chill today so 5 minutes just about killed us.

  9. I want a little snow! I just want about 6 inches… nothing more! This year we haven’t had enough for ground coverage yet!

That looks absolutely fantabulous but I think I may be allergic to shovels so I’m better off on this coast.

Now I shall nip on over and check that post!

The looks on their faces say it all. They are having a blast!

My husband and I discussed going north to take Fly to see snow (because it doesn’t snow here and he talks about snow nearly every day), and we almost, almost did it but changed our minds when we found out he’s still too young/small to go down the tubing slopes. Maybe next year….
