Have fun with more Wordless Wednesday.

Have fun with more Wordless Wednesday.
Oh my! What a day yesterday! I got a call from a reporter from CTV, just as I was expecting friends over for a play date! J came home early and was totally supportive (in return he was captured in the segment with Becca and Ethan too)!
I was included in a segment about last minute shopping tips. I am so sure I was never meant to be in front of a camera, that I am much more comfortable at a computer, yet it was fun

The ever amazing Gail at Delightfully Diva-ish awarded me with the Christmas Spirit Award.

Christmas Spirit Award rules:
You must be a true Christmas lover to receive this award. The person to whom you give the award must also be in love with Christmas. You must link back to the person who gave you the award. You must list 5 things that you love about Christmas. If you can’t limit it to 5 things, then keep going till you run out of space! Pass the award along to as many people as you like. That can be 1 or 45; it’s up to you. But, you must pass it on to at least one person in order to keep the Christmas cheer going! Let your recipients know that you have tagged them by leaving them a comment.
What I love about Christmas:
Now to tag a few of those that I know have the Christmas Spirit (and may have the time to do this!)

Gosh this week has been emotional. Ethan received his Canadian citizenship card in the mail! It has only been just shy of a year that we applied. I am relieved that it is done. He is officially Canadian.
Then the apartment complex called and asked if we would be willing to hand over the keys early and in return they would clean and give us our entire security deposit back. We were able to hang on to the mail key till the end of the month since we are frugal and did not pay to have it forwarded.
The kids are loving having a yard. They absolutely refuse to go into the basement alone, but will spend hours outside on their own. I would never send Ethan out there on his own, but together they seem fine. I am constantly checking on them and often have to head out to help someone with a mitten or a snow ball. It is just so amazing to see them play together. Since moving into the house they are so connected and are getting along so well. Becca is demonstrating so much patience and instruction with him. Ethan is going to miss her so much next year when she goes to school.
We also received some crappy news that puts us back a bit. My wonderful husband is taking it much better than his bitter wife. It isn’t really the end of the world but I have been working so hard to pay down our debt and it feels like we are back to square one for another year. The dining room set I was dreaming about will have to wait for sure.
I finally finished all but two rooms, the laundry room and the spare room. I needed the motivation of a play date to light my fire
Check out Flickr for more pictures. It was so amazing having friends over to our house! I want to do it ALL THE TIME. err wait that means my house would have to be clean all the time…
What are you plans for the weekend? We are going blind shopping. Exciting I know!
Thanks for all the congratulations. We are very excited to welcome our third child. Some of you asked if this was a surprise or planned. Well there is a little story behind it
I was pretty convinced that I was content, complete with my two beautiful children. I was ready to be me, creative, read more, maybe date my husband again, enjoy life with two kids. I had gotten rid of all our infant stuff (almost) and all my pregnancy clothes, in part because we had to save on moving costs back to Canada.
Then I had a talk with my Grandma. She has three grown children, and was telling how her last child meant so much to her, how it completed her family and was just right to have. It got me thinking. Both my close friends here in Halifax have large families. So that was definitely an influence, seeing them happy, content, full of love.
I also starting thinking about how it is just my Dad & I. Well he grows really really old, a long long time from now I will be the last. It is a lonely prospect. I have a great family, so why not?
Well there are plenty of reasons NOT to have children. I started running this summer and it changed my inner being in a way I find difficult to express. I can run while pregnant, I am not ’cause it is cold outside and dark and I am a wimp. J & I both wanted to start “living” again. Maybe head out for drinks with friends, take in a concert, watch our children grow and increase the amount of independence they have. Besides, children can be expensive little beasts. They need to eat, be clothed, they need stuff. Or do they? Sure they need to eat, and clothes almost always come in some form or another. As for stuff, we have a lot, we need little and we are a happy growing family.
Yet, I thought maybe one more. J was pretty against the idea at first, then the idea grew on him. Once he came around to the idea, I had thought well maybe not. lol. So we were a pendulum swinging back and forth. Never quite making a decision whether to have one more or not.
Providence stepped in and decided for us.
So we are about 8 weeks pregnant. Due late July 2009. I am determined to keep this little bun in the oven till after Becca’s fifth birthday. I am feeling good, although very tired some days. I have never been plagued with morning sickness, instead I just get fat.
I am happy that this baby will not move until they are grow and ready to venture out on their own. I am excited that Ethan will be a big brother. I am overjoyed that Becca thinks it would be totally awesome to have another baby.
How did you decide when your family was complete? psst I also wrote for Being Savvy Halifax … Becca had a special treat!
