Been busy celebrating and preparing for Christmas. We are so used to our quiet low key lifestyle, that concerts, parties, shopping and all that jazz really seems to consume so much of us.
It however, all quickly approaching the big DAY! I am sadly disorganized. I am knitting, sewing wrapping, humming, cleaning, cooking, baking (hopefully soon) all in a frenzy. I call it Christmas High. It is fun and stressful.
I vow not to leave so much to the month of December.
I want to be able to sit back and enjoy the season with the kids rather than feeling frenzied.
This is Becca’s last week till her Christmas vacation starts. I can hardly wait to have her home! Two weeks of all of us being together, going for walks, reading, playing and enjoying each other. J will be able to take some time off too so it is an extra bonus.
Are you still creating presents for Christmas? Still shopping?

All ready except the list that I gave to my husband. Not one thing from that has been purchased.

Yo….a bit of the cheer here Chelle and glad that everything is well ok….
I’m flying to China till Xmas eve so enough of shopping here…shop in China
Have fun and in case I didn’t log on, Merry Christmas and big hugs to all the kids ya
James can’t wait for the “gifts I made him,” which, umm, aren’t yet. Yikes! It’s sweet in that, shit, kind of way. Why couldn’t I have taught him to appreciate the store bought box things?
10 more days. I can do that.

I tried knitting some stuff for Christmas but I find myself unable to knit on a tight schedule so I had to come up with alternative presents. I have been baking up a storm so I have cookies to give to all the people I think I need to. I just sent off the first wave of presents and have another batch to go. I am ready for all these deadlines to go away. My husband took the two weeks off that my kids will have off schools so we will have a nice quiet staycation.
Oh yes, I really should do my wrapping before school ends. Thanks for the reminder!

Since you asked, I’m still in the process of trying to make/get to you the Pay It Forward gift, which may or may not make it by Christmas! But you should probably count on the latter, the way the mail is….

Would it be sad to say I haven’t started yet :/
We are jewish so we have been celebrating for the past week but both kids have birthdays in december and I swear I am feeling overwhelmed..no matter how much we do before hand-we just get like this because we want it to be great..and it will be..
I have vowed to start my list for 2010 NOW, and slowly work towards a simpler Christmas for next year. As usual I was disorganised so was at the shops during the maddness and blew the budget on cheesy gifts that really didn’t have as much thought put in as I’d like. It came off without a hitch but it’s exasperating that it ends like this most years. This coming year is a year for getting it together in lots of areas of life and I’m excited that others are trying to embrace the simplicity of it all too. A big Merry Christmas to the Soodz family. Blessings to you all xxxxx
