Got My Ticket to Paradise

Got My Ticket to Paradise

hehe

Well I do have have my movie ticket for New Moon. My BFF & I are heading out Tuesday night. I have two more days to get all giddy like a school girl! hehe

Silliness is good for the soul.

Cordi

We totally hauled a$$ or rather wood, and moved all the split wood to our wood shed. The 50 year old maple in our yard that fell, we kept the fallen tree. We have a fireplace insert in our basement to help supplement our heat in the winter. So when the tree fell, J saw the opportunity for wood (next year after the wood has dried out or seasoned). We had no clue what we were signing up for.

Luckily we had a friend come by with a chain saw and a wood splitter (splits the logs into burn-able size), to help us out. We worked all Wednesday after to split most of it. We still have these massive pieces of wood that I am not totally sure what we are going to do with.

So today we cleared that all out. Not an easy feat. I was ill most of last night, getting very little sleep. Just keep pushing forward.  The kids loved spending the afternoon outside (well Cordi merely put up with it). I am loving the cool but livable weather!

How was your weekend?

5 Creative Thoughts

  1. With the extra wood why don’t you make stump seats and put a fire pit in the back yard? ;-)

Lucky you, Morgyn is going tomorrow with her BFF. I’m waititng to go with my Mom when she comes for Christmas, it’s going to kill me to wait but I will survive. Right?? :)

  3. Cool, maple wood. Isn’t it funny how one tree gives you so much more firewood than you expect? That happened to us with our oak. Honestly, I think the oak logs are multiplying.

Don’t you end up wondering how pioneer/settlers did it–daily manual labor, plus hunting and making food, plus watching the kids? Oy.

  5. That was very frugal of you…I am glad you saw the opportunity for next year’s wood!

I think you will LOVE New Moon! It was my least favorite book of the series, but I like the movie better than I did Twilight! I am going to see it tomorrow again, after Thanksgiving dinner :)

    Have fun!
