Having Fun

Having Fun

phew … there are days I figure this baby is so one the way out! Yet the last two days I feel “normal” and feel like she is staying for the long haul. Such a different pregnancy than the last two. It is exciting! I still have so much to do before she arrives so her sitting pretty and where she is at is important!

BeccaOver the weekend we cruised a few hours away to check the dinosaur museum. Becca has renewed her obsession with dinosaurs so I wanted her to be able to experience it before her baby sister arrived. We all had a great time, exploring the museum, even the road trip was fun!

Then on Sunday, Becca and I headed out together, just the two of us to the theatre to see Ice Age 3. She totally loved being the “special” one. With her birthday a week away, I am anxious and feel the need to treat her to more of my time. Emotionally more than anything. She is my girl. The one that created the mom in me. My first. I am in awe that she is turning five!

Ethan has been under the weather, coughing, fever and not nice poops. He is uncharacteristically miserable. Not fun. Yet wonderful that he is slowing down a little so we can snuggle. He has become so busy, so two year old boy. He never wants to stop and cuddle anymore :(   Yet he is starting to soak in more books, like his sister. It is by far one of my most proud parenting achievements, how much my children love books and stories.

EthanI hope to square away details for Becca’s birthday party. We are hosting a few friends over on the 19th to celebrate. I may be buying her cake. I am just not sure i will have the energy to bake a cake before hand. Oh … Any ideas for party favours? We are hoping the weather is nice and the kids will play in the kiddie pool, slip and slide, bubbles and play in the yard. Really casual and laid back. The age range for guests is 9 years old to almost 2 years old … Not sure what I want to give out?!?!?!??!? Last year we made play dough which rocked … but that was last year … I need something new! Help!

Can you make CD’s on your computer, some of Becca’s favorite songs? I did some for Kamryn’s loot bags this year and they were a huge hit, the biggest challenge was finding appropriate songs but I did it.

Oh Wow… a party coming up!!!! It can be fun but exhaustive though, still nothing beats seeing the joy on the kids’ faces :D

Lots of fun going there and with these age groups, how about having an adult dance with the kids (with music on) and shout ‘freeze’!!! (Another adult to stop the music). The kids must freeze and whoever moves, will be out of the game. This goes on till the last kid stand :D Hope you udnerstand what I mean :D

Have fun and sorry for not visiting :D

What beautiful children you have.. I always love the pics you share. I can’t believe all the motivation you have! I don’t think I ever hit that point with either of my pregnancies, LOL. You go, girl!

Sounds like y’all are having fun. Hope your little girl stays nice and comfy until you’ve gotten everything ready for her.
And, give yourself a break…buy the cake. Becca will be pleased as punch either way.

I like the CD idea; we did that with our Girl when she was six or so. A big hit was also Ooblek (sort of along the PlayDough lines…).

    Yay for a girl date!

We did a cd one year; it was a hit. James wanted to do another one this year but we didn’t quite get our act together in time. Also, he doesn’t realize he listens to most of his music through podcast. You mean, I would have to buy the music?! Horrors.

How many kids? I have these fossil molds, put plaster of paris in them and you have fossil chalk. I got the molds at a teacher supply store. I think there’s 6 to a tray so you can either do 6 at a time or buy more molds. Not that it’s a ton of work, but with kids and being pregnant, it’s kind of nice to get it over with.

    Buy the cake. Have fun.

Glad you are enjoying your time together.

CD idea is great. What about buying a little picture frame and taking pics at party and then sending them to the kids. Buy the cake but I also have to admit that I baked cup cakes for max’s party the day I went into labor so I am a nut but give yourself a break and buy the cake.

I probably would have baked the cake if I did not fear his allergy stuff and somebody else baking.

we did the CD thing at G’s rock and roll party. I even made the invitations as CD’s…in the case and all!

If you don’t want to go that way what about having cookies or cookie pops that they decorate themselves. I was going to do that once with my class. We were going to do flowers and then put them into pots. On second thought…that’s a lot of work but…

Speaking of pots; outside, nature, etc…what about getting small pots and a couple of packets of seeds and having everyone make their own plant/flower/food!? You can set it up on a blanket or picnic table.
