Careful What You Wish For

Careful What You Wish For

Sorry for the “scare” the other day. I was just way frustrated that my body was playing tricks on me. Thankfully the ankle pain has subsided, and I am once again walking for half an hour on the treadmill daily. Relaxin is such a torturer of a hormone. I get that it will help once the baby is coming out but it so messing with everything else too! The chiropractor has made such a difference with my back, that I really should not whine.

Bedtime

Becca attended her Aquatic Preschool Graduation today. It was so sweet to watch her sing the songs they taught her and see her swimming pictures. They grow up so fast, it is bittersweet. Not sure what possessed me to suggest we walk the 40 minutes UPHILL on the most humid, hot day in weeks. We arrived and I was all sweaty and gross. It was nice on the way home, downhill but I am so overwhelmingly hot right now. Of course my sweet children want to play outside :) So here I sit sweaty, sore, pregnant.

AKC Preschool Graduation

30 days till the due date. It seems so surreal that we have so little time till she comes into our lives on the outside. I am tired, sore and cranky at times but like having this baby so close to me. Besides, I am not *allowed* to have the baby before Amy returns from her vacation in three weeks.

I cannot believe I posted bare belly pictures. That is a first for me. But the angles and lighting were just right, disguising some of the stretch marks :) I fell huge but I am smaller than the last two. I even lost 6 lbs the last two weeks (when I started on the treadmill and cut out some snacks, I am still measuring right on).

It has been raining or overcast for 5 days now. I am so so ready for some sun. The kids had a blast playing in the wet yard yesterday, finding slugs, snails and other delightful creatures. However when your energy is lacking cloudy days are so not helpful.

I finished anther stack of books and in great need of more reading material. Any suggestions are welcome :) I am waiting for some holds at the library and hope to scope out a used bookstore this week. Read any good books lately?

I have been reading quite alot lately. Will have to check out the titles and send them to you. I tend to read cheesy chick lit though so it might not suit your taste! ;-) Glad the ankle is better-ish. 30 days will fly by in the blink of an eye! How exciting!!

I love her graduation picture! How sweet!

Glad your ankle is doing much better. That must be a big relief. It’s bad enough to hurt it when you AREN’T pregnant! LOL

I’ve read the Women’s Murder Club series 1 – 7 and I really liked them. I’m mostly a thriller/serial killer/forensic detective kind of book girl and not sure if you read them.

My favorite series was about Lincoln Rhymes. I LOVED those books!

I’m reading Friday Night Knitting Club; just finished My Sister’s Keeper, and am going to read the Twilight series next.
But I think you read all those already…

  4. Gail says:

Oh her graduation photo is so sweet! How dare they grow up so fast on us!! Parenting is so hug-pulling!

  5. Ah, I love putting things on hold at the library. Almost as much as I love actually reading the books. ;)

Glad your ankle is feeling better! Sure wish I had a treadmill now. I am supposed to walk every day, but the alternating record heat and days of constant thunderstorms mean going to a mall where I can walk inside.

Becca looks so cute and happy in her graduation photo. And her hair has gotten so long!

30 days! That sounds like such a short time. I know it doesn’t seem so when you’re the one pregnant though! :)

Lately I have been reading cookbooks and other food related books ;)

I really liked Animal, Vegetable, Miracle…but I was very late to the party on that one! My library finally had it without a waiting list.

Hmm, my book club read House of Spirits. I liked it but I was the only one, too political for most. I’m currently reading The Robber Bride but it’s going slowly. Probably because I read the end so that I didn’t have to stay up late reading, a bad habit I picked up from James. Neither are particularly good books to read while pregnant I think.

I’ve really only read one book since the baby was born. It was for my book club last month and it wasn’t that great. So I got nuthin.

  9. You read faster than anyone I know! Glad to hear the ankle pain has subsided, though :)

  10. Michelle says:

I’ve been seeing a chiropractor too and it’s made such a difference for me; I’m glad you’re feeling better too!

How cute is the aquatic grad ceremony!

  11. Madeline says:

Glad you’re doing better. Those last couple of months can be tough. But, I like what you said about enjoying your baby being so close. That truly is such a wonderful feeling, and makes all the pain and discomfort worth it. Hang in there! :)

Very cute aquatic graduation pic! I know you are so proud!!

Oh, and can you ship us some of your rain!!!

  12. rachel says:

I am glad you are feeling better too. I lost about 5 pounds in the last few weeks of pregnancy. I had cut back on some food and was just preparing to cleanse my body for the new arrival. I ate a lot of white rice, veggies and some protein and cut back on anything crappy.

I am glad becca had a good graduation. She is adorable.

    Wow-only 30 days!

As a woman who gained 70 lbs with each pregnancy, may I just shout HOLY CRAP at you for losing six pounds? You ROCK, sistagirl. And in the humidity, you keep at it. I have a new hero.

Oh, if you ever want to feel better about your own belly and its stretch marks, I’ll send you some photos of my belly. Shield yourself, though.

If you’ve never read Ayun Halliday, her books would be great for summer–she’s a scream and will give you things to think about without you even knowing it, as you’ll be having such fun. Particularly, try THE BIG RUMPUS. Please. It’s all honest mommyhood.
