Yummy Goodness & Weekend Fun

For all of you that requested J’s now famous Ham and Corn Chowder, I posted it on Being Savvy Halifax :)

We had a super busy weekend. We painted, did yard work, cooked and hung out with the kids :) Saturday after waking early we painted then spent the WHOLE day outside. It was AWESOME. I love spring!

Well, Saturday, I spent about three hours cleaning the whole downstairs while my husband was gone for six hours having fun at the festival. (Okay, I’m trying your approach to cleaning but it’s so hard!). Then I spent about two hours cleaning and re-organizing the garage. Yes, I even used my swiffer duster to clean the shelves! LOL

I did take Ariana to see Hannah Montana yesterday, and we loved it!!! You have got to take your daughter to see.

Do you guys have that show there? Do you even know who Hannah Montana is? I feel stupid.

It was hot, hot hot. 103 yesterday. Blah. That said, we sill spent a lot of time outside. Mourning the loss of spring I suppose. We planted some plants, watered, and then watered some more :-) , and found lost socks.

We spent the weekend with two families who also have children with Down syndrome (and their moms are good friends of mine.) It was a weekend to remember, I had a blast! Then my weekend ended with Baby J’s adoptive mom contacting me. It doesn’t get better than that!

We planted grass seed in the backyard & spread peat moss over top. I can’t wait to get grass back there.

I also tried to click on the link to get the recipe and it says the link is broken. Sad face! :(

It sounds yummy. I have a crock pot potato soup recipe that I ended up adapting into a ham and corn soup. It was yummy too.

  9. My weekend was busy as well! Working the derby bout, some of the afterparty, and continuing to fight off the sick.

Glad you all had a great weekend! And thanks for posting that recipe; I can’t wait to see try it out…especially now that I’ve started Menu Plan Monday!

I swear, you are so wonderfully full of joy and appreciation–and don’t days outside help with that? I know tonight was a joy (now that the snow stopped and the sun came out) for me.
