Rambles of a Tired Mom

Written by Chelle on Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

phew. That headache was nasty. I was completely out for the day. Yesterday was better and today will be fantastic!

I am almost done Becca’s costume!! I have one little thing to do! Then I have another sewing project to get done (have the fabric just need to get at it!) Becca’s costume turned out so awesome. YAY me! She tried it on and loves it. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy! I so adore creating things!

Ethan and I are attending Becca’s Preschool Aquatics this morning. She is so excited to share it with us. I felt like a total bad parent with these classes. She swims in the pool for half an hour then the rest of the time she is with her class. So I would take Ethana nd we would run errands or play a the playground. However, what Becca really wanted was for me to watch her in the pool! awww! So last week I made sure to be there to cheer her on and watch and will do so for the rest of the class.

A few people have asked how the packing is going … ha ha ha. Packing? What packing? I made a promise to myself that I would not get overwhelmned by it all and sucked into it paying little attention to the rest of my world. So November 1st, I will start but the kids, our friends, our activities, will take president over silly old packing. I have a month where we have the apartment and the house (grrr evil lease), so I have plenty of time, beside J has finals to distribute and mark as well as all that other end of semester professor jazz.

I am however done most of my Christmas shopping. I do have a few things to square away, complete etc and stocking stuffers to take care of. I am so glad this is the last year that I will be moving in December! sheesh!

Thank you for all your support concerning the Savvy Source! I am so excited about the project. In fact I have a new post up today about choosing a dollhouse, check it out!

I cannot believe how grown up Becca and Ethan look. I feel like I could have written the tired rambling post last night as well.

So glad you are feeling better…headaches stink.

I had a head cold for two weeks and it hurt so bad…

That’s so sweet that your daughter wants you to watch. Some kids rather their parents leave.

Don’t mention the word packing - ugh! I am now out of all the boxes that I want unpacked. The rest are in the garage of our apartment. I don’t blame you for putting it off.

In town moves are always the worst kinds of moves. They are so long and drawn out. Good luck with your packing.

My son wanted to go to your house to play. He wanted to keep “wooking” at the pic of Ethan.

Glad to hear your better. James always wants me to watch his soccer games and I always want the time to myself. I give in occasionally, but really focus on it being father/son time. Did I mention he’s decided not to sign up for soccer again :-)?

Wow - all your Christmas Shopping?? Awesome. I can’t wait to see the costume!

Awww, glad you got to enjoy Becca’s class!

Every time I come here, it makes me want to get my sewing machine out and try to figure out how to thread the bobbin. But I have so much on my plate right now that I think having one more thing to be frustrated over would make me lose it for real.

  12. Chantal, on October 23rd, 2008 at 5:17 pm Said:

Having the apartment for a month will certainly help. I know we had our house for a month after we moved and it took the stress off of doing all the cleaning and such. Glad you are feeling better. I am jealous that you are done your shopping! I wish!

You are done with your Christmas shopping!?! Wow! I thought I was doing well to have my idea list ready and done, but you actually have your gifts! :)

I hope that moving goes well, it is nice that you have a month of overlap. We had that too, and it saved us! I started packing up early though, just the things that I knew we wouldn’t need. I hope that you can enjoy the ride!

I can’t wait to see the costume too.

I often wonder if Sierra would enjoy a dollhouse? I was never really into them and find my choices in toys for my girls is influenced by what I enjoyed as a little girl.

  16. Cara, on October 24th, 2008 at 10:11 pm Said:

You and my sister are the only people I know that are done their Christmas Shopping. When I bought my first home I still had a month left in my lease. I moved one room at a time and painted. I did not have children at the time but I took my time and really did not pack. It also depend on how far the apt. is from the house.
In the end it will all make it there!
