Wild Week

Written by Chelle on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

I cannot believe it is only Tuesday. I collapsed last night, exhausted. Being on the go and organized and experiencing all of this is pure exhaustion. This week will be the crazy one, then it is a matter of waiting … waiting for the closing date … waiting to go home.

Ethan was remarkable yesterday. He spent his first afternoon away  from me. We had the house inspection to attend to. Initially J was unable to go, so I would have been flying solo with the children. We have never owned a home before, so I wanted to make sure we received a through overview of the house, its quirks and required maintenance. So my sweet friend took both my children for the afternoon!! I was so not sure how Ethan would fair, he bursts into tears if the distance between us is too great!

He cried when I left, however my friend called and said she placed him on the rocking horse after I walked out and he was giggling. The afternoon was wonderful for both kids (my friend has three children that are amazing so they always have a blast together) In fact when we came to pick them up, they were both happily sitting at the table, sweaty from playing hard, eating a snack.

The house inspection went AWESOME. The house although older is in wonderful condition. There are a few future improvements that will be done, however nothing pending immediate attention. We meet with our finance guru this afternoon (by then I should have our house insurance all set) and we have officially met all the conditions for the sale of the house.

Oh! J & I also went to meet the neighbor, just to see if he had anything to say. He was only positive and was so nice!! Unfortunately they are moving too!! They are in the navy and have been relocated :( They even have a daughter close to Becs age!

Oh! (things keep getting better & better hehe) There is a French Immersion school within walking distance! So next year I will be walking Becca to school! It is a nice small school and so close!!

What is your favourite aspect of your home?

3.62 km             26:05 min.                    Pace 7:12 min/km   <– Not my best run, however I am really tired, it is that time of the month and i am really consumed with distractions. Next run will be better :) I went out, I tried <– That is what counts for me.

Oh, this changes season to season (what I like best :-) ). Functionally, in the summer, I really like that I a/c is zoned, and I can turn it off in one side of the house and “live” in the other. Silly, I know, but it’s a huge money saver.

In theory, I love the space (outside), but it’s a love hate relationship because it’s so much work. Potential, but work. It’s great for James though.

And right now, I love the schoolroom. So perfect for our situation right now.

How great that your school would be in walking distance! That wuld be so ideal. It sounds so perfect for your family.

That’s so awesome, Chelle! My favorite aspect of my home is probably my master bath. Or my office area. And I love my huge kitchen. And my porches, even though they’re not covered…yet.

I love it that the school is within walking distance!

I’m having a hard time adjusting to this house and at the moment I don’t really have a favorite aspect. :( I miss the space of my last house so it’s hard here. I do love that I set up a space in the dining room for homeschooling! So I suppose I love that. :)

School in walking distance is such a plus. I drove Morgyn the 1st 5 years she was in school and now we’re literally a block away. It is awesome.

What do I love about my house?? Hard to answer that one as we’re just renting. One day I will have an answer to that question though ;-)

I am so happy for you!!! Congratulations!!! I am dying to know where it is!! Looks like CP. I am addicted to MLS and checking out the houses back home.

I am so glad that it has all worked out for you. Here’s to an exciting couple of months!

As for my house… my family is what I like best but if I had to give a ‘real answer’ I would say our screened in porch off the kitchen.

I still have a huge grin on my face for you!!! and I’m going against my less is more for exclamation marks!!!!!!

Yay for you…And yay for E being such a brave boy! Oh! And Yay for your friend who had all those kids with her…:)

Hi, just popped over from Helen’s site. Sounds like a busy time. My favourite feature of a house is a porch, I don’t have one on my current home and I miss it. My favourite functional feature would be laundry on the same floor as the bedrooms, and again I don’t have that. :)

Good on you for running. Do you use a GPS watch to monitor yourself? I am training and doing my first 5K this weekend.

Only Tuesday and it’s been exhausting, eh? That’s nice your friend took the kids so you could be there for the inspection. The kids look cute as ever! What I love about my home is our huge yard and my wildflower garden.

Great to know that all is going on fine Chelle and can’t wait to see your house once you settled in ;)

I like my house because it has a fantastic view and it is always breezy around Oct-Jan period :)

I’m very happy for you and your family. It’s great that you can walk her to school. I have fond memories of that as a child. It beats driving them off.

    Baby Soodz #3

    We're having a baby!

I am 36 weeks pregnant. There are 21 days until my due date on July 26, 2009.

When I am very still I can sometimes see the rythmic patterns of my baby practicing breathing, though there is no air in baby's lungs, yet. Sometimes this breathing practice gives the baby the hiccups!
