Random Thoughts

Written by Chelle on Friday, September 12th, 2008

Ethan has not been sleeping well. This is causing much dishevel in our world as we are so interconnected. I *think* it is his eye teeth torturing him. The other night he was so worked up, he vomited. Not fun for anyone.

Becca has been getting up really early, crawling into bed with me, just after her Dad gets up and sleeping. This is a sweet wonderful thing.

We looked at a few more houses. Nothing that suits our family just so. I am trying to take this opportunity to organize myself, complete some projects and get ready for Halloween and Christmas.

I am making Becca’s costume this year.

I am creating *most* of the Christmas presents that we will be giving this year. I cannot really share much about that since most of the recipients read this blog!

J is into full swing. His second semester of teaching is consuming  a lot of his time. We have been trying so hard the past two weeks to remain on top of everything that we both crash, by 10pm every night (not to mention Ethan not sleeping).

I have been plagued with shin splits (I think, again, grrr), making my runs not fun. Finally last night I kicked ass and had a great run. Much More Than a Mom and Mom on the Run have been posting their work outs at the end of their posts, which I am going to shamelessly copy. This weekend I have a running date! I am actually going to run with another! I am so nervous! However she just had a baby so I should be able to keep up :)

Ew! Ok the mystery item that included these ingredients .. water, gluclose-fructose, sel, caramel, hydrolyzed soy protein, corn syrup, citric acid, sodium benzoate.<— that is suppose to be Soya Sauce! ew! Instead it should have included soya beans or defatted soya bean meal, wheat, salt and water. We will be watching our labels A LOT more closely!

The air is shouting that Autumn is quickly approaching. I love that we are back in Canada. This will be our first Fall back. I am in awe that we are approaching the year mark. The leaves are still green, however the spiders are out and the geese are flying overhead. It is cool yet comfortable outside.

What is your favourite aspect of Autumn? Is it making its appearance in your neck of the woods?

It actually has cooled down here and is foggy, which is so nice. I don’t expect it to last, so I won’t be disappointed :-) . The trees are starting to change too (the few that do). I put a trip to Oak Glen on our calendar. I have to work on James costume. I’ve begun – he’s going to be a Union soldier (from the U.S. civil war, the northern side). What is it about him and dressing like a soldier for Halloween? But, I have to admit, it’s a fun costume.

I love that you are loving running. Maybe think about getting inserts made for you shoes. I used to have shin issues but never since I got inserts.

Yeah sleep issues are tough. WE have those here as well.

sorry about the teeth! Very curious to know what you are making for presents. We’re doing the same. I’ve started a couple…here’s hoping I finish!

Always thought that summer was my favourite time of year. What I have realized is that I like the change.

Autumn smells are the best, that leafy, windy can’t really explain smell. The anticipation for Thanksgiving, Halloween, my birhtday and Christmas always gets me too!

in this house we firmly believe children sleep so they will live to see the next day. they can be so frustrating when they are awake, but one look at that sweet, beautiful sleeping face and all is forgiven. it is almost as good as “i love you, mama.”

hey, i’ve been trying to get ahold of you but your email has vanished from my life, please send me an email.

We’ve been having some sleep issues in our household too and it ain’t fun!

Our little guy crawled in bed with us in the wee hours of the morning this morning and it was sweet to be able to cuddle with him!

Loved your pictures, by the way!

Congrats on an amazing run! I hope Ethan feels better soon.

I think it’s great that you’re so crafty, and will be making the costume for Becca, and holiday gifts for family and friends! With our finances what they are, and now with the recent spike in gas prices, I would do good to make most of what we give, as well.

I hope by Ethan is getting better now and it is probably due to teething now which is normal for most babies so don’t worried too much Chelle.

I have to start my list for Christmas too now that I read you are already in prepared mode :D

    Baby Soodz #3

    We're having a baby!

I am 36 weeks pregnant. There are 21 days until my due date on July 26, 2009.

When I am very still I can sometimes see the rythmic patterns of my baby practicing breathing, though there is no air in baby's lungs, yet. Sometimes this breathing practice gives the baby the hiccups!
