This weekend was crazy busy, fun, and tiring. On Saturday we went to what we thought was Becca’s last morning of soccer, only to discover we have one more week! w00t! She rocked the soccer world this week and her listening skills were awesome. Meanwhile, Ethan flaked out on us moaning, weak with pain from nasty molars that are ripping his gums apart to stake their spot in his mouth. Poor little guy wants to be his happy little self, but is really being tortured with pain.
After soccer we went to J’s office/lab to take some pictures then headed to the Waterfront for a picnic and walk. The weather was magnificent. Summer in Canada so totally rocks. I missed this country so much. We had a blast, walking talking and enjoying some great family time. Ethan crashed out and slept in the stroller for most of the afternoon. I think the sea air, the rush of people, and the freshness of the outdoors totally soothed him.
Once home J prepared an awesome meal with salmon, rice and veggies! mmmm…I bailed on my run for the first time since J got home, I felt totally off.
ugh.
For two years I was free. Two beautiful years.
Now.
The Witch is back. yuck. I knew it was coming. Ethan has progressively reduced his nursing and now he is sleeping through the night. It was only a matter of time before my menstrual cycle began again. ugh it is almost enough reason to get pregnant again.
Almost.
I did go for a run this morning. My bloated body wailed in disbelief that I would squeeze into my running gear and go. It rocked. The fog was providing this amazing misty ocean air, as I ran I could smell the lilacs blooming. I came across a few other runners on the trail. We nodded at one another. We did not miss this. I felt so much better. In fact I even sprinted a short distance, letting my legs lift off the ground like a gazelle, feeling free, powerful, beautiful … then desperate to catch my breath my body forced me back to the ground to finish off my run, cool down, stretch … feeling this vibrant I never expected.
How was your weekend?

I like the new website design. So nice!
Our weekend was HOT. Not HOTT. HOT. Ugh.
And, yes, it’s been bliss not getting my period for AGES. But, nothing could make me want to get preggers again. NOTHING!

This was supposed to be our last week of soccer too. But, we had one week cancelled due to heat, so we get an extra week too. Sort of.
We were busy, pool party today, soccer and Adobe making Sat.
I lost James’ kitty and am making a new one.
You rock with the running. You are encouraging me to think about running from my couch.
Wow what a beautiful design!!!!!!!! Well done! And running too-flipp’n awesome!

Sounds like a great time.
I envy your ability to run. I can’t. I faint. Not really, I wouldn’t really know, I never really ran. Well, I try, then I stop shortly after I start.

Sorry about the witch.
That sounds great, the feeling you describe about running. I don’t get that feeling myself.

Just to make you feel better. We dealt with over 100 (F) temperatures…IN THE SHADE!!! and absolutely no breeze!
I was a mess. This Canadian girl is not cut out for southern weather…or to be completely honest southern soil!
On the other hand, we had an incredibly busy weekend visiting; we went to friends house for supper on Saturday (so I didn’t have to cook) and to a house warming on Sunday (again, I didn’t have to cook). That really makes for a GREAT weekend!!
76 more sleeps and we’re home!

We had cool weather this weekend, mixed in with a bit of rain.
Saturday we went to a wind-up for the job I had, it was a fun evening. Except for the mosquitos that smorged on my legs. Itch!!!!!
Sunday we sat and watched movies and Bruce took Kamryn to her soccer practice. We have a few more weeks to go and they are done.
Booo to Aunt Flo! She sucks butt for sure!

Ugh, I’m so green Chelle, I love Halifax, it was my first choice when we decided to move. I do like where we are now, but I would love to live close to the ocean and closer to my big East coast family. Your are inspiring me, I need to dig out my joggers.

Hey thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures and glad to know that you are rejuvenated after the run..keep going ya
We had a good weekend – not overly busy, so good. I am really starting to enjoy the running too – in fact if i miss it i feel a bit guilty about it even! It seems to give me a real energy burst for the day – and a great feeling from knowing I’ve done something good for me. Good on you for going at it. Do you have any goals for it? I’m secretly planning to do a half marathon later in the year …… maybe.

It does sound like you had a great weekend! Ugh on starting your cycle again! That’s such a nice bonus of being pg and nursing! For some reason I’ve been feeling like I’m going to start again soon, which is odd since I’m nursing Lucas “constantly” still.

glad you made it out on a run, even with the curse!
i have been trying to slog through my walks even with the “visitor” and even though it’s tough to motivate myself to do it, it’s so worth it.
plus! working out is supposed to help with so many symptoms of the curse… so keep at it!
