I Turned Into a Real Girl

Not a Mommy.

Not a Wife.

A Girl. With a Friend. At the Movies.

It was fabulous. The movie was funny (Sex and the City, the ultimate chic flick). The popcorn was ok. The company was awesome. The laughter was wonderful.

Groggy, tired but still glowing from my transformation last night, I will go back to walks to the library, preparing dinners, cleaning and entertaining, with a lighter step. Refreshed.

Wow, I’m so jealous! Congrats. I’m glad you had a well deserved great time! You should know that, whenever I’m in public - just me and the girls - I actually think about you and look to you for inspiration when I’m around other moms that I could be, should be, want to be chatting with. I’m still too shy - for some reason sparking conversation is not easy for me. But, your stories about how you make friendships despite all your moving around the world… they inspire me. I soo know where you are coming from on the “real girl” thing. I think I have totally embraced the real girl in me since coming back to the UK. Yes I am Joey’s Mum and whatever they think I am at work but it is so nice to get together with friends and just “be me”. I felt the same way when my girlfriend and I saw it 23 weeks ago. I did not think about anything but all the fun years I had watching the show. I thought about all of the changes I went through too and I cried and laughed. It was great.
