Spring

Written by Chelle on Friday, April 18th, 2008

Flowers

Spring has arrived in our neck of the woods. The buds on the trees are growing, flowers are coming up, the weather is tolerable and spring fever is in full swing. We have tried to take advantage of the lovely weather, going for walks, heading to playgrounds and hiking through parks. It is exciting to watch our city blossom for the first time.

My beautiful children have been snotty and coughing all week. Now I am feeling under the weather as well. ugh. Just a cold, but still. I was participating with Much More Than a Mom on a cleanse, however not eating food made me really miserable. I made it through the two days but yuck. Not sure I would do it again. Not with children at home, wanting me to be sunny and bright. I like the idea of cleansing out the system in theory.

E

We are suppose to head out to the library this morning. At the moment I would much rather get into some comfortable clothes and lie around all day feeling yucky. This weekend we may head to the farmer’s market or we may just lounge. J has his final on Saturday (he is one of those professors that has his exam on a SATURDAY! actually he had no choice it was pre-determined). Do you have any big plans for the weekend?

I plan on vegging as long as possible…Fa has a birthday party this weekend for a boy in her class…That’s pretty much it.

We’re coughing and sneezing here too…Gah.

    Feel better!

Oh! and the cleanse…The first couple of days sucks…but once you get past that….it’s really a good feeling.

Oh how I wish spring would stick to a firm appearance here. It’s below 0 again and I’m hearimg rumblings of snow BRRRRRR.

The cleanse sounded like a great idea, I don’t have the will power anymore. Kudos to you guys!

I’m working this weekend, and my sister is coming up from Calgary today for a visit. I shall become obsolete in my kids lives while she is here, :-) it’s the usual.

Spring, oh lovely spring. It’s full on sumemr here.

My BIL and SIL do the cleanse thing. Of course, they go to some spa in Thailand (whcih isn’t as exotic as it sounds if you’re starting in China). But, if I’m going to a spa, it’s not to not eat.

What cleanse were you doing? I was doing the master cleanse, but never could make it past about two days without getting excruciating headaches. Which I understood to be part of my body ridding itself of toxins, but geez….I couldn’t stand it.

Your kids are so cute. I cannot even stand how much fun we had in the sun today plus the ice cream I ate last night to honor the spring season.

Weekend plans? S has gymnastics tomorrow am, then my parents will hang out at my place all freaking day and expect us to feed them 3 times, then Sunday we’ll veg out as a family.

Yay Spring! We’ve skipped onto summer over here - the heat is off in my house, the windows are wide open and it’s 28C inside! Both kids have the sniffles too. Yuck I hate colds! I hope you feel better soon.

I went to a party last night where they put up a big screen in their backyard and we watched the “Back to the Future” series. It was fun. Today we’re going to church then to see a dollar movie later….

Sorry your cleanse didn’t work out. It’s hard… did you do the lemon juice, cayenne pepper one?

Yea for Spring finally getting there!

I did a “cleanse” one time. But it was MUCH different than the one you were doing (I check out her blog). I bought a book that had all these yummy recipes, and while you didn’t actually eat “food”, I was NEVER hungry on it, which was the point, I think. You had some type of smoothie for breakfast, all natural, and then all these different juices you can make for lunch, two snacks, (I even bought a juicer), and then broth that you acutally make yourself for dinner. Everything was good, which surprised me, but it seemed like I spent a small fortune on all the fruits and veggies I needed!
