I completely understand the hospital thinking. (me too).
I’m glad Becca is being so grown up about her eyes! And the party? HMMM, I’ve never been big on parties, and usually, I do just what you are planning. Have balloons, just the family, whatever the kid wants to eat, and then cake and icecream, and then gifts. It’s always been a great time!

Wow 1!! So fast! How about Becca making some “artwork” decorations for you little party?
I am thankful everyday that my children are healthy.
WTG Becca, she grows more and more every day it seems into a wonderful little person.

I’ve been wondering about Becca’s eyes. It seems like a long time since your last appointment. Glad to hear everything went well.
I think that sounds like a great first birthday. Take time to enjoy it instead of making yourself crazy. Although having Becca make art sounds nice, if she wants to.
Miss you.
I’m so on a “green Kick” too! For Theo’s 1st I did the car thing too (or transport) I served all the food in the backs of toy trucks etc (lined with paper cloths) so the table looked like a whole heap of parked cars with food….. all the decorations on the cake were edible - used fondant icing and molded the shapes, licorice for the race track or for the wheel tyres on a car. a licorice strap for the bumper.
Aside from balloons, there wasn’t really any extra purchasing because I used Theo’s car toys.
Oh, I also purchased a race car wipe-down table cover which I have used time and time again as something for kids to eat off when we have extras over and there is limited table space.
Gosh, you’ve really reminded me to get onto the birthday party posts at divas!

I absolutely HATE having to go to children’s hospitals for that very reason! Though I do support them and am so thankful that they are there, and that there are such selfless, wonderful people to do those jobs. I could not do it; it would break my heart. Glad all looks well with Becca’s eyes!
Happy birthday to Ethan! I think just spending the day as a family is a WONDERFUL way to celebrate! I’ve done both, and I prefer family get-togethers to anything. There will be plenty of time for bigger parties when the kids get a bit bigger

So smart of you to have a small just family birthday. I wish I’d done it, but then the rest of the extended family would have been all offended and stuff. Oh well!
Happy Birthday Ethan!

Good grief, she looks like such a big girl. And Ethan, a year old? It hardly seems possible. How beautifully you’ve done with them!
