Back To Our Regular Scheduled …
She is home. Precious is ok. Data is there. We can all take a huge collective sigh of relief. Still need to back her up. Always Back up your data! w00t for The Halifax Mac Store! They were super friendly (even when I called to check in on her..hehe) and speedy!
Her logic board died. How sad is that? Now with a new one, may she last another three years! I missed her so dearly. I did get a lot of reading done though, so watch for some thoughts and reviews, in the near future.
I have been a knitting machine, but not a very good photographer. In part, this is due to the fact that my husband cannot take a good picture. The poor guy, seriously has no eye for it. Every picture of me there is some fatal flaw that is totally awful! He tries, like really hard, yet the pictures are always off. One eye is closed, or expressions are wonky, my bra is showing or there is a booger hanging out (usually on the children since I like to blow regularly when needed!) So a lot of my knitting as of late has been items for moi, so pictures have been challenging. Even if I wanted a less than flattering picture, my husband has been working a lot and not really around to take a picture
The Cloche something I have wanted to knit forever, so I purchased some wool from the farmer’s market and knit it up in a few days, from this pattern. It needs a ribbon or some sort of embellishment to give it that extra touch, but I really like how it turned out.
I did finish J’s scarf (weaved in the ends weeks ago!) I adore Mission Falls Wool. It is so soft (and washable)! J loves his scarf so it is a hit! I am totally ready to try the Mission Falls Cotton. I have mentioned it is Canadian wool?

The Natalya fingerless mittens were so fun to knit. I dyed the merino wool like forever ago in New Mexico. They are my first installment in Project Spectrum. They are totally on FIRE, and I hope they will keep me toasty warm when out taking pictures. I still have a hefty skein in those fiery colours, that I keep seeing a short sleeve sweater, with red sleeves, the multi colour in the body with a red front pocket … this Wicked Pattern maybe? … all in my mind’s eye … must knit that someday.
I feel like I am forgetting a bunch of knitted items. I am working on a project that still needs to be felted (I am so bad for knitting like mad then taking forever to work on the finishing!) Also knitting a second sock from a pair that I started in July (oops!), plus a book bag for Becca since the one we are currently using has actually worn out!
Ethan is completely tortured by TWO teeth erupting on the bottom, tearing apart his gums and making his life (and in turn ours) miserable. He has mood swings that would put a pregnant woman to shame! Poor baby. Can you believe we are less than a month away from his first birthday!?!?
Becca enjoyed a morning playing at a friend’s house, while Ethan and I chatted and admired their home. It is so exactly what I would dream for, if umm yeah we did not have a HUGE tax bill to take care of. *sigh* There are moments I am consider returning to work part time just to help get us out of this rut and into that dream home a little faster. Then I look at Ethan and Becca … I really do not want to miss a thing. Even if that means we are in this apartment a little longer. *sigh*

Glad precious is back.
Poor Ethan and the teeth. I remember when my kids were teething…no fun for the little gums.
My precious is ill, too! Only we have replaced her! LOL. Love the knitting jobs. My DH can’t take good pics either.
You might want to try xdrive for data back up - it works like an external hard drive. 5G of free storage and oh so easy to use. Just sign up a few times for more stoarage
OMGoodness you really are such a clever knitter! It is now beginning to cool off here and I am ever so keen to start knitting - but am scared that I’ll a. be really terrible at it, or b. get so into it that everything else will fall to pieces!
I understand that whole “rut” feeling ….. sometimes I think about a return to part-time teaching and then I just weigh it up with how much I will miss being with my kids and how quickly seasons pass that I just know sitting it out will be best for me and my family. It’s just that sitting it out can be a long sit!
LOVE those fingerless mittens! Heh, my husband can’t take a good picture of me, either. Yay for getting your computer back!
Gosh, time flies. Ethan is going to be one soon. Unbelievable!
My husband can’t take a decent picture of me, either - so I have to resort to taking my own, like a 13 year old…
you’re so talented! Look at those gloves!
Huge tax bill, I hear that!!! Part time work is tempting…have you thought of selling some knitted wear? The thought’s crossed my mind more than once…
Soooooooo glad she’s ok!! Woohoo for AppleCare!
You could buy a full length mirror (inexpensive at IKEA) and a cable release cord. That might help for self-portraits.
Awesome FOs! I can totally relate to having a husband that is horrible with a camera. I have so many bad pictures of me taken by my husband.
Oh my God you look so cute! That’s actually a great self-pic! The BG sucks at photography too - he tries, but I don’t think he’s ever taken a good one. Love the hat & mitts, and J’s scarf looks fabulous!
Love the fingerless gloves.
That is some beautiful knitting! And sky. Holy makerel Batman, does the sky come that blue?
I LOVE that scarf! Heck woman, why don’t you make them and sell them? You have such a talent and people would pay for that stuff!
Poor Ethan. His teeth still haven’t popped through? I can’t imagine the pain that would be. I wonder if God made sure babies don’t remember anything until after 3 because of all the pain they have to go through when they are that little.
And hey, really, start making that stuff and selling. My mom was a single parent of five, and the only way she was able to buy us Christmas is by crocheting blankets, hats, gloves, scarves, swearters, etc, throughout the year and then selling them.
Wow girl, you are talented in so many ways…Yay you!
You’re so talented! Your knitting looks awesome! Glad you got the computer back. :o)
okay what do i have to do to get those gloves!!!!!!!
Love the gloves. Sorry about Ethan.
Great stuff! When you live in a place where you only ever really need a light jacket knitting items that will actually be used gets tricky. Maybe I just need some friends from the North…
Rest in peace, logic board.
I always love to see what you are knitting. You do such awesome work! J looks so good in the scarf you made him. I am so glad that your “precious” is back. My computer died and had to be at the computer hospital for about 5 days and I went through some serious withdrawal.
I have subscribed to your blog through google reader and on one of your posts there seemed to be an obscene message right in the middle of it. I knew you hadn’t put it there, in fact, the sentences and spelling were terrible. I wonder if google reader accidentally put somebody else’s blog post in the middle of yours or if you had someone hack into your blog. I thought I would let you know just in case there is a hacker out there trying to post on your blog. Email me and let me know what you find out! I’ve been sick and taking care of sick people for several months now and haven’t kept up with my favorite bloggers - including you. I’ve missed you! Keep in touch!
((hugs))
