A Little Snow
Since arriving in Halifax, it has snowed and snowed and snowed. It totally feels, smells and is CANADA! brrr! Becca is loving it. I told her it was snowing today and she replies “Is it Christmas?”
We had a fabulous weekend. We rented a car and jetted about Halifax. Needing supplies we were unable to be complete tourists and just explore, but at least I have seen a Starbucks or two. There is shopping centres and a library within a short driving distance (walking in the warmer weather for the library!)
We saw the ocean. Beautiful. Halifax is truly a beautiful city. I have never moved in the winter (not recommended really). It is difficult things seem different all covered in snow. We drove through the downtown, stopping briefly at a yarn store *drool* I was able to see the university that J will work at.
The pictures today … Ethan at the Museum of Natural History and Becca sound asleep on the bus! She has zonked out a few times while riding the bus! It is so cute (hope she doesn’t do that when I take it alone, I am not sure how I would get her off!)
It was good for my inner balance to see Halifax. We are planning to bus it down to the university this week and do more exploring on foot. It is rather chilly here so I am hoping the weather will improve a little (the snow can stay I would rather the minus be in the single digits … picky? hehe totally)
Rumour has it our gear *might* arrive by the end of the week. I am so so hoping it will. I would love to set up the tree and the few decorations we have. Our plan is to focus on the fun stuff first then work slowly on the rest . . . . Are you already for Christmas?

I’m so glad that you’re enjoying Halifax! It truely is a beautiful city. I’ll keep my fingers crossed about your gear
Have you looked into a church? We attended in the university area…our priest was super cool (I think I’ve told you about him in the past)…he works at the youth (fun) service at St. Theresa’s and does the masses at St. Thomas Aquinas (his name is Father James Mallon). I have a good friend who goes somewhere in Clayton Park, near your apartment…
I love how you are making the most of your move. You’re great!
Yay that you got out and about!
Kind of ready for Christmas hear - we are leaving in a week!! No decorations around but wrapping presents counts.
I’m so glad you are safe and sound in Canada. I’m so jealous of your snow since we get hardly any these days. I love Canada, yet I’ve never been!
I was thinking about you this weekend..As usual. We are getting some work done in the living and dining rooms and I was so out of sorts…I thought if how you must feel…Obviously NOTHING like I felt with a little furniture movement…But I felt for you…
SO glad your stuff is coming soon.
hugs.
Slowly but surely things are working out =) I’m glad you’re out exploring with the kids, home is where the heart is.
You are so great :-). Glad it’s good there.
We’re fairly ready. Presents need to be wrapped, but that’s minor-ish. I always swear I will do it early, and end up staying up late Christmas Eve. One of these years.
Hope you’re stuff comes soon!
Yay Halifax! Yay Canada! Yay snow! (Actually, snow sucks but I know where you’re coming from. We have a shitload of it here today and the roads are awful.)
Hope your stuff comes soon!
We’re pretty much ready for Christmas - our presents are bought (although they need to be wrapped), we’re putting up our tree tonight, and there’s some housecleaning to be done but everything is doable. I LOVE exploring a new city and Halifax sounds GORGEOUS!
Hmmm it seems to be snowing, snowing snowing here also! UGH shoveling sucks butt!
Sounds like you guys had a nice weekend. Once again the kiddies are adorable!
Crossing fingers, toes and anything eles that your stuff shows up ASAP!!
So glad you’re there and doing fine. Your city sounds wonderful. I just love a university city. It adds such energy to the atmosphere.. all the young people and books and learning.
Sorry it’s so cold! Get yourself a peppermint mocha tomorrow. love ya!
You sound much happier..that’s good!
It’s been snowing a lot here too.
I soooo can’t wait for Christmas!!! I hope your stuff comes soon, and have fun exploring!
Oooo, I’m so jealous of the snow.
I want it to snow here. It just doesn’t feel like Christmas without snow, KWIM?
Yes, we are all ready for Christmas here & counting down the days!
Hope your stuff does show up by end of the week.
Sounds like things are going really well! So glad you found your Starbucks!
Hope you’re happy and feeling moved in, have thought about you frequently with the move!
Snow! We have had some too, but not as much as we usually do. I keep hoping for a big winter (a real winter). That’s great that you are getting settled.
And that’s cool that you might hang up your guitars too!
Sound like even though there is snow you guys are making the best of it. Hope you get your stuff soon. I just moved and we finally put up the tree and decorations and it is a real mood lifter.
I am so glad things are looking up for you! Stay WARM!!!
Ready for Christmas? I need about another month. :o) The only things I’ve done are the inside and outside decorations.
Cute pictures of your babies. Yeah for the Starbucks (Seattle’s Best in my case) I’d be miserable without one. Hehe.
Oh I hear you about the cold. I’m not too happy “down here” in New England. And my daughter has been carrying around her bathing suit for the last month asking when are we going to the beach!
I’m hoping your stuff did indeed arrive by now!
