Packing … Still Packing
So J has been home the past couple days due to Thanksgiving down here. He is going in today to work, however. No rest for the chemist. We have been working our tail feathers off trying to get all our stuff ready for the big move. My goal is to have everything ready by Tuesday so I am not stressing out right before the movers show up. J is working all next week, so it is me and the kids directing traffic.
So super pissy news. We have had issues with the company that will be transporting our car not contacting us and letting us know what the gig is. Yeah that is because they plan on having our car for THREE weeks. Nice. Yup our little American car is going to see Vancouver then all the Canadian countryside by train. I have the worst luck with moving companies.
So we will becoming intimate with Halifax’s Metro system. Becca is really excited about riding on a bus and since we will be doing a lot of walking and metroing it will be nice to check it out.
So for Thanksgiving we ordered a meal through our supermarket. After Ethan’s birth Holly had brought us a similar meal. Seriously people these meals, although not as good as Grandma’s (like anything really could compete) are awesome. I will not have to cook like till Tuesday! w00t!
Oh and because we do not have enough stuff *sigh* we went out on Black Friday to score some more! Since it snowed here like two inches we did not make it down the Hill until 9:30 Am. The sleeping bag I wanted to score was gone from Target, but we found a pretty cool alternative. So that covers beds for all of us until we have furniture again!
Becca has enjoyed the snow. I was getting Ethan down for a nap, but J was saying she was having issues with snow being … cold. Poor girl. I knit her a toque and mittens, but I fear the mittens are not ideal. Need more cuff. It was my first pair, live, knit, learn.
It would be awesome to share some pictures, however I am lucky to have time to read emails, much less take and upload, pictures. Sorry. Hope to catch up once we are there. We will be without much so I figure I will have time.
3 days till the movers come.
7 days till we fly home.
wow.

I can only imagine your excitement to go home! That’s going to be the best Christmas present ever.
You are so positive…I wish I could rub up against you and get some a’dat!
Still wishing you best of moving luck.
Wow. Hope the Canadian transportation system is more adequate. Waaaay more adequate.
There’s some felted mitten patterns in ravelry (some are free). I would think these would be wicked warm, no?
I can’t imagine how difficult such a move must be…I wish you much move luck.
Snow IS cold. Dammit. xoxo
Good Luck with your move hun! The states will surely miss you! I hope your move goes off without a hitch and everything goes smoothly as planned. Please let me know if you need ANYTHING! Good luck and God bless!
So sorry to hear you won’t have your car for 3 wks! Sounds like you have a good plan in place with exploring the metro over there though. I can’t believe you’re leaving in 7 days either! Wow that seems to have gone by quickly!
Oh my Gosh! 7 days?!
wow! You must be super nervous.
Sorry to hear about the car, ugh, that will take some adjusting to for sure.
Good luck with the movers & can’t wait till you’re finally “home” to hear all about it.
Wow 7 days! Just wow! How cool is that!
Hoping they go as smooth as possible.
Wowness - already there!! That is awesome for you guys (even though it’s tiring too!) I can’t wait to read all your posts of being “Home” amongst the Canadian accent etc ….. and Becca’s impressions.
Will keep you in my prayers this week ….
P.S. You are doing an awesome job bringing this move together and keeping home going too!!!!!!
Greetings from Austria! I am amazed that it is only 7 days until you guys head back! SOOOO excited for you!!
When you get back to Canada, run to Canadian Tire and get Becca snowmachine mitts - they have long cuffs that go halfway up your arm and they’re waterproof.
Hardly any time left now!
Wow it’s getting close. Sorry about the car though. That really is no fun at all.
Wow time has flown by! We are having to ship our car and it’ll take three or four weeks - yeah, not fun.
I hope everything goes smoothly!
We shipped Beetle’s car from TX to CA and it took two weeks. They tried to explain why it takes two weeks to transport a car that’s only 17 hours away but it went in one ear and out the other. I hope they over-estimated and that your car gets there early. *crossing fingers for ya!*
Good luck with the move… I can’t believe it’s almost time to go!
We were without our ’stuff’ for 3 months [shipped by sea] so hopefully things will be a lot smoother for you.
Cheers
At some point this will all be over, you’ll be sitting comfortably in your new house, happy and Canadian and all this stress will feel like a dream. RIght? Right??
Wow, just a week now! I hope you can stay put for a while so you don’t have to much so soon again and deal with the movers.
I cannot believe your move is so close! I am happy for you, though, because I know how much you have wanted to go back to Canada. Although, for the life of me, I cannot understand why? Haha, just kidding!
I’m so excited! And I’m not moving. Good luck.
