SNOW Day

Written by Chelle on Sunday

It totally snowed today. This is the first snow for Becca (that she would remember). I excitedly ran to her room and carried her to the patio doors to show her the snow falling. J took the kids out to the pond, while I baked and cooked dinner. It was so wonderful to see Becca so excited about the snow fall.

I love the smell of winter. That crisp clean smell. Mmm I can hardly wait to get to Halifax and experience it there.

I think we have found an apartment. Unless some dreamy place jumps in front of us, we are waiting for pictures of the inside then we will send a cheque. All this leg work has left me exhausted, stressed and not sleeping. I have woken up before 5 am, just to call people on the east coast. Why my head cannot accept that it can wait till a decent time locally I have not a clue. I need for all to be settled.

I am really anxious as of late. So I have picked up my knitting needles and have been frantically knitting. Knitting creates a zen state for me. I am more patient, more graceful and much more pleasant to be around if knitting. I long for my knitting pals to hear all my rants and raves. Miss you.

SNOW!! That’s just so exciting. I hope that we get some this year. I grew up with snowy winters and it’s hard to imagine my kids not seeing any.

Jamie watched that about 10 times. He wants to write a note to Becca. “Dear Becca, I miss you . . . A LOT. Sometimes, you can come to our house. Today. I’ve never seen you in a long time. Thank you for the present you sent.”

Yeah, come over today. That would be good. Snow looks like fun. Miss you.

You little ones look so adorable! We finally got cold weather this morning; until now it’s been 90 every day. Crazy.

Good luck on your apartment search!

How fun for Becca! We did our 1st Christmas here without any snow and it was awful, a little bit is always good. Having come from Manitoba that was pretty unlikely to happen ;-)

We have had nice weather here and are suppose to be super warm all week. Yay, it allowed us to catch up on yard work this weekend.

How cool - Snow! It doesn’t snow here in Auckland…. the mountains are a 5 hour drive away, so hopefully next year we will take the kids for their first “real” snow experience (there is an indoor snow thing here so we may go there first!)
Thanks so much for the silks!! It’s so exciting to get mail from overseas….. too exciting! And tell me, did you do the hand sewing too??? Legend!
Hopefully I can give something in return - we are having a give-away season coming up on Domestic Divas! Yay for Christmas!

Oh yuck! I’m not ready for snow yet. I hope it has the decency to wait until November at least here. Now I’m scared to look at the weather forecast!!

Wow - it’s almost like you’re back home already! Bec will love January in Halifax!

    That’s nuts!
our weather has been all screwed up. It was 78F here yesterday!
Glad to hear you found an apartment. Can’t wait to see pics!

Where did you settle on? I hope that it works out well for you!

  15. MamaLee, on October 23rd, 2007 at 7:39 am Said:

We were 80 degrees yesterday. It’s NUTS here in New England, although I am not ready for snow at ALL. Nice to look at, and fun for the kids to play in, but I think having snow for my 41 plus years just makes me sigh and long for the sun!

Enjoy your snow (and I’ll send you mine when it finally arrives here!) and enjoy those sweet babies. I LOVE looking at them!

  16. Nadine, on October 23rd, 2007 at 7:56 am Said:

We don’t get much snow where we are, but she does look excited aobut it. What fun for kids.

  17. Amanda, on October 23rd, 2007 at 5:55 pm Said:

WOW! Snow already! We had 80s here this past week. Now rainy & 60s! I’d rather have snow than rain. But I dont think we will see any of that until atleast another month or so! Ya never know!

  18. Michelle, on October 24th, 2007 at 9:13 pm Said:

how fun that you got snow already! From the slideshow it looked like Becca really enjoyed it!
Oh I forgot in the above post to say sorry the first apartment didn’t work out, but crossing fingers for this other one you’re looking at.

    I miss snow.

    So, so much.
