The Great White North Contest
Well, as I have alluded to earlier I am about to announce an ongoing, multi-prize contest that will run throughout the month of October. Five fabulous weeks of prizes, all to celebrate our return to The Great White North (aka Canada).
First off, I wanted to thank everyone for becoming part of our world. Blogging has become a way for me to never be far from home and to always be a part of something. Moving to a new country, even one as close culturally and proximately as the US is a challenging feat. I have lived outside my home country for almost 2.5 years. It has been an adventure that I will never forget. It has sculpted me, changed me, and inspired me. The people I have met both in reality and virtually have left imprints on my heart forever.
Halifax is no where near our family & friends. It is about as far away from them as we can get while still in populated areas of Canada. In fact it is farther in distance than we are now. However, there is a sense of safety and security knowing we will be in the same country.
Each week, readers will have the opportunity to enter to win some cool prizes. Since I have commentors from all over the world, I shall be open to winners from everywhere, although it is my contest so I will be honest, there will be preference to those who regularly stop by Crazy Thoughts. If you don’t like it … don’t enter
Now for the goodies . . . When I was thinking of contest ideas, I knew we could not do anything outrageous being it is coming out of our pockets. Yet I wanted to share somethings that are personal, therefore I chose prizes that are just that, personal favourites that I think would be cool to win. Somethings are for kids, or Moms however not all prizes are. Some are new and some will be things I enjoyed first (reuse!).
Thank you for celebrating our journey back to Canada.
This first week, I will be awarding a few books. Some from publishers that have kindly sent me books to review, others I have enjoyed along the way.
Week Two will be a chance to win some hand dyed Silks! My kids love them, Ethan will instantly stop crying if handed a silk, and Becca has been a super hero, covered her cat and made forts a plenty!
Week Three you can try to win one of two hand knit Market Bags! I am glad you thought the one I posted the other day is so pretty because that is one … the other one is in production
Week Four … A Bombtown T-Shirt! w00t! You know you want one!
And Finally … the Grand Prize …. One Year Pro Flickr Account!!! If you already possess a Pro Account an additional year will be added on! I adore my Flickr account (did you know that pre-Yahoo buy out Flickr started out as a Canadian company?)
So there you have it … Five glorious weeks of celebration and party time
Ahhh yes, how does one keen Crazy Thoughts Reader enter the contests? I will be asking a series of questions and all I ask is you to answer the questions in the comments. No need to link to the contest since really it is a special celebration just you & the clan ![]()

I’m a little upset that you’re so happy to leave the good ol’ USA… but seriously, congratulations. I know you’ll be happy to be back in your home country. Our best friends are 2 Canadians that are living here in the states for their work. They might be here forever or might be gone back to B.C. next month, but they are the warmest most generous people I’ve ever known. So here’s to you, CANADA! We love ya!
Can you just start by sending me that bag?? You know I’m in love with it already!
Awesome-ness!!!!!! Can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with!
Awesome! I totally want to enter for the silks & market bag. And, of course, the Flickr acct! I’ve always been too cheap to do that.
I’m still trying to figure a way to get to NM before you go all the way to Halifax (quick note: not going to happen). Unless of course, I sneak out before everyone’s awake. But I think Becca might notice if I arrive without Jamie.
At least send licorice when you arrive :-).
Well, now. I can NOT wait for the contest to begin!!!!
This is so cool.
I was wondering how close Halifax was to your family. I’m sorry its still so far away. But hey, You are going Home to Canada and you can’t beat that.
I am so happy for you.
Ooo I love the looks of those silks! I know that Evan and Harry would go nuts over them. They love playing with their blankies so I know something lighter would be a big hit.
I am bummed that we will probably never get a chance to meet. I don’t see us making many trips that far north.
How exciting!!!
I am hankering after one of those bags!
YAY! I love contests!
Okay, so I go away for a few days and I come back and everything is sooooo different. I’m doing a little happy dance in my kitchen, I’m so very happy for you. Halifax is a great place lots of great exploring for you to do. Congrats! Your site looks great and seriously since I downloaded Firefox I have no problems.
Looking forward to hearing all about the contents.
YAY!
Hi, I’ve just come from Scribbit’s. Sounds like a busy life you have there and a fun blog!
I’m game. My answer to your first question is yes.
Do I win for being the first to answer even if there is still no question?

I’ll be checking back to enter for a chance to win. Thanks so much for hosting all the giveaways. It’s quite generous of you!
Sounds like fun!
Woo hoo!!! Exciting!! about contests & you coming back of course.
I said to Eric the other night… we should go visit J & Chelle. He kinda laughed & said, flight out there is probably quite expensive, lol.
Well, we will be coming to visit you out in Halifax, however, it may not be for about 5 years, lol!!!!
i can’t wait to try & win some of your prizes!
How exciting! Fun prizes, can’t wait to enter and try my luck
I can’t wait!
Wait, no Smarties, Twizzlers or maybe a touque? Doesn’t everyone need a nice knitted hat?
What a great idea for a party! I think we should be sending housewarming presents.
You have always been such a warm presence. Since finding my place in the blogging world I ave been amazed by how I cherish the familiar names beneath my posts. Yours has always made me smile. I remember fearing I’d lost it with my helmet comment, so glad you still visit and still share your wonderful stories!
I just caught up! Halifax? AWESOME.
Congrats! Welcome back to Canada, eh?
I like this book review malarky. I wouldn’t mind doing that! There again, my nightstand is already overwhelmed.
Cheers
Sounds like you’ve got some fun giveaways planned! How nice of you! Kayla would love playing w/the silks!
I’m sorry Halifax isn’t actually closer to your family; but I know you’re just thrilled to go back to Canada!
I can’t believe how sweet and generous you are. You really amaze me.
Halifax is going to be awesome. It’s gorgeous there and really relaxed. Lots of great music too! I am so excited for you guys (and a little jealous).
