Smiles
Why is time standing still, yet still disappearing before me? It is the weirdest sensation. Seriously. I can hardly wait to hear if J got the job in Halifax. It could be weeks before we know anything. ugh. Yet I am trying to get some things done and time is GONE. GONE. ugh.
I feel like the more I attempt to get organized the more unorganized I become. How is that possible?
We miss Grandpa already.
I mentioned I was knitting. Well there are a few projects that are still in the works, but tonight I finished a cute Market Bag. The bag turned out awesome and I totally want to knit up a few more once I de-stash some of my yarn first. I have a little collection growing that I need to tame. I posted some knit ramblings on my knitting blog for those who care to wander over there.
Becca, Ethan and I had a wonderful day. We walked to the department store to peek at their swim suits (way over priced) the headed over to Starbucks for a milk and tea. Then it was off to the library to return some books and take out new ones. I spotted a great book for Becca. The main character loses his beloved cat, something that Becca can relate to.
I miss Charisma so much. Yet there is this eerie calm in our house. I had no idea how stressed out we all were while he was ill. Even Skippyjon has calmed down and has settled into being an only cat quite well. We talk openly about Charisma and how much we miss him, the things we loved about him and the things that annoyed us. I hope we are doing good by Becca.
On Monday I stated Becca was settling into swim lessons … well no. She was lulling me into a false sense of security. Total rebel in the class once again. It is a good thing Miss Rebel has a sweet, VERY patient swim instructor. The kid is giving me some more gray hairs I tell ya!
I have been making people smile and have won awards for it! I rock. hehe. Seriously. Thanks. It gives me great joy that so many read my blog. Who would have thought three and half years ago when I started here at soodz that anyone beside my Dad and Mother in Law would come by (they do it for the cute pics of their grandchildren more than my ramblings of yarn, mean moms, naps, or rather the lack there of). Many Thanks for the award Nadine and Shannon!

As for tags … Seriously. You all make me smile. So if I come by and comment, your tagged. Thanks for having me be a part of your world and making me smile.

That was a sweet way to handle the award. You know I’m here reading, girlfriend!
Those are both such nice pictures. I think your handling Charisma’s loss well.
You know you make me smile.
Oh my gosh, I hear you on the organizing thing! For me what I really hate is that I have to mess up the living room in order to get the dining room clean and vice versa. It leaves me feeling like I haven’t accomplished anything at all.
You are very deserving of the award. See I’m not the only one who thinks so.
Lummy! You have been blogging a long time! I’m so impressed. I’m just coming up to my first year.
Love the knits. I used to knit a lot, especially when we were in England [chilly] but I’ve sort of got on of the habit [sewing too seems to have fizzled out]
It certainly can be hard to get everything done - I feel like I’m permanently stuck of ‘fast forward’ although it feels as if I’m running up the down elevator!
As for the cat thing - I came across a very good children’s book - something like ‘9 lives’ - I’ll see if I can track it down, it had a great message for kids [and grown ups come to think of it] and the illustrations were lovely.
Best wishes
You totally rock. And look at those two faces! goodness. Can’t beat that.
I’m waiting right along with you to hear if J got that job…hugs.
Those two pictures with your dad and the kids are so precious! I love them!
Oh, and I have a question for you that someone asked me. Do you pronounce your name “Shell” or “Shelley?” Mine is “Shelley” so I have just assumed that you did too.
i’m on a quest the next two days (while ava is in preschool) to do as much organizing as i can. if only the boy would nap!
love those pics. your girls are beautiful!
and that bag is awesome. i need to learn how to knit already. do you give lessons?
amy
Those pictures are so cute!
I dont thnk i’ve ever thrown a photo away..hence my Hard Drive usage…but this is why.
There’s always memories…always.
I love that Ethan and Grandpa have the same hairdo.
That picture of Ethan with his grandpa is soooo cute!
And Becca looks like she’s having a great time up in that tree!
Love your knit bag. You’re so talented.
Congrats on your award. You deserve it!
3 1/2 year, that’s really long compared to my 2 1/2
Keep up the good work. U know I love hopping over here to read your blog whenever I can. And I too love the pics of your kids.
Alright I’m dying TOO about whether you “get” Hallifax. You do realize this would make us sort of neighbors. We love Nova Scotia.
I’m going to go look but did you post the pattern to that bag? It’s really beautiful and I completely want to make one!
Well it is easy to see where Ethan and Mommy get their smiles from. Great pictures.
Great pics of Becca and Grandpa! Sorry he couldn’t stay longer.
Go Canada Go - Go Jason Go! We’re rooting for you!
Crap - sorry about that last comment - can you edit the name quick if you care?
I love that pic of Ethan & your dad, they look quite alike, lol!
I totally think you’re doing the right thing by talking about Charisma, heck, we still talk about Chewy, but mostly because Nate asks about him & I answer.
Hope Becca’s swim classes get better again.
That was a wonderful award!!
I hope you all hear about the job very soon. The waiting would make me crazy!
I think you’re handling the issue of Charisma with Becca just fine, sounds like you’re doing all the ‘right’ things with her.
and your bag did turn out awsome!
You do make me smile … and so does that bag!
and hey, that’s a wicked cool bag! I’d pay for one of those!
