That’s How We Roll
In an attempt to be creative in achieving much desired shower time, I have been placing Ethan naked on top of a diaper and blankets on his tummy with some toys to look at. The little stinker rolled over yesterday! From tummy to his back! The babe is not even four months old! So I thought maybe a fluke. This morning little Ethan, rolled onto his back twice while sun bathing in the window. Again this afternoon. Gone are the carefree days of leaving the baby unattended (JOKING).
Our playdate went awesome. Becca enjoyed having company and so did I! Thursday we went to Music and Movement and storytime at the library. It is so cute. Every week the librarians pick a theme to read about. This week it was vegetables. So Becca has been BEGGING me to go buy veggies. Ahh the power of a good book.
Today we joined a group of moms that meet once a week to play and chat. Super great group of women (and one stay at home Dad, don’t want to leave him out). It was so sad, they were saying good bye to a family that was returning to Sweden. I was in tears, not because I am an emotion sap (which I am) but because I was just that person that left. It was so hard to leave. It is the best thing for my family (especially considering our funding was about to run out) but leaving those friends behind was heartbreaking.
I also joined some ladies Thursday night for some knitting. It was nice to click the needles together with others. Even though I am on a mountain in the middle of nowhere, it is slowly starting to feel a little more comfortable, although it will never be home. Speaking of home, I am not sure if I mentioned that J was not offered the job in Toronto. We of course we very disappointed, however we will end up where we are suppose to be. J will be interviewing in Canada again soon ![]()

That boy of yours truly has a million dollar smile! Rolling over! Stop that Ethan you are going to grow too fast
Awwww…. Ethan is sooooo cute! I hope J gets a job in TO - then we can have playdates!
I’m so glad you’ve found things to do there so quickly. You’re amazing!
Rylan started rolling f to b at 6.5 weeks and I actually thought there was something wrong with him when he kept doing it. I think it was because he had so little fat to keep him anchored!
At least you can relax until he rolls consecutively and starts to travel. You just might have to put a few diapers around him in case of a pee geyser.
Sorry about the job, but yeah, another interview! I thought you were going to slow down on that mountain. Snort. You rock.
Leaving is SO hard, isn’t it? But look how quickly you find a new community, new friends! Where you’re living now sounds so idyllic.
I need to know how you do it?
How long are you in your new surroundings? …and you have found friends with similar knitting interests and playdates for your baby girl!!!
I am so in awe of you.
I’m living in my ‘new’ neighborhood over a year and I have yet to take her to the beach alone all day and maybe the library 3 times MAX!!!! I haven’t met one person I can click with and I just don’t believe how wonderfully friendly you are!!!
Ethan is so adorable–he has such a wonderful smile. A little cutie!
Woo hoo!!!
Way to go Ethan!!!
he looks so much like Becca in that pic. He’s so cute!!!!
You know why he rolled don’t you? Those cheeks. So lusciously chubby they alter his center of gravity, pulling him right on over
Cool mommy group. Ethan is adorable. It’s hard to believe how quickly they grow up.
Sounds like you are doing well.
I love it when the kids do new things.
Again, so impressed with your connecting up with people - social bunny!! And gorgeous photo of Ethan - he looks like you! They are so precious!
WTG on the rolling Ethan! He’s growing up so fast
How wonderful that you’re getting out and involved in all the community groups and things…making friends and playdates already -that’s awsome!
You seem to have settled in so well already! And that is a lovely photo.
Best wishes
Hey Chelle it’s not a fluke, babies roll over wayyyy early nowadays. And Ethan is simply looking more and more adorable by the day
Sorry about J’s job but it’s their lose, not J’s. Good luck to J in his coming interviews.
