Schmoozer
I went out last night. I did not want to. Really I wanted to sulk around the house, begging my cat to eat. But I didn’t I went out and schmoozed at the local La Leche League meeting. Meeting new people is hard. I am an outgoing gal once I feel comfortable and LLL has always put me at ease. It was nice to be around other women and babies, as well as get to know our little community.
Soccer Mom in Denial has presented me a great award, Official Schmooze Bicep button.
Schmoozing is the natural ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” Good schmoozers effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.
I was also honoured by Yours-Truly … Thanks so much!
I am feeling pretty honoured and very humbled. Thank you so much. Schmoozing in the world and in the blogosphere has been an amazing experience for me as a Mom. Having a community and a network of support is very important to me. Everyone that comes to Crazy Thoughts is an awesome Schmoozer, however I have one hand to type usually so here are six bloggers that have the power to schmooze like no others.
Janet - Not only has she successfully used her dog as a potty motivator, she is the best blogger & commenter!
Beck - Her way with words leaves me in awe. Then she comes here and comments.
Nic - Awesome mom … amazing business woman.
Holly - I always feel better when I get to spend time with Holly. Even from a distance!
Betty - Her fab photography and adventures have everyone schmoozing!
Jacquie - One of my favorite commenters, who starting blogging. Now I can’t get enough of her blog!
As for Charisma, he has been eating a little and appears to be drinking his water. He has not thrown up in the last 24 hours or so. J stopped by the pet store and bought some paste stuff but of course Charisma is the only cat on the planet that does not like it. Pounce and some sample food from the pet store is all he will eat at the moment. I actually squeezed some of the tube stuff (thanks for the tip Holly!) onto the pounce to give it some nutritional value. As for another cat, I think we are heading to the Animal Shelter this weekend to see if there are any that seem to fit.
Becca is very upset that her cat is ill. She has been quite clingy to him and us, having short crying spells then being ok. Ethan is happy and oblivious.

That’s honestly the first time I’ve ever been called a schmoozer but I think I like it!
Glad to hear Charisma’s eating a little. My cousin suggested chicken gizzards & liver (ask your local butcher) as that’s what her Lucy would eat when she was ill. She just lightly fried them in butter or oil to kill any bacteria but didn’t over cook them and that’s the only way she would eat them.
We’re thinking about you!
I feel your pain (found you from Chelle blog). I’m in the same boat. We just moved to AZ and if you knew me before the move you would never know that I hate going out and MAKING friends. One friend back in arkansas that moved said she felt like she needed a card to hand to people “Hello, my name is Kim and I need a friend”. I should look into the LLL again. Hang in there. Could you cat be on a hunger strike because of the move? Our dog didn’t eat much at all for about 3 weeks and is now back to her normal chipper self.
Chelle! Thank you! That’s so great.
With great power to schmooze, comes great responsibility. Remember that.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! OMG Sometimes I kill myself with my jokiness! Ahhh.
I’m so so glad Charisma is drinking and maybe starting to eat again. Although my boys never stopped eating after we moved (like they would EVER give up food!) they did act a little wiggy and just not themselves at first. We’re hoping he just needs a little time to come around.
Good luck at the Animal Shelter. I hope you find a sweet new friend for Becca and Charisma.
Jeez, I am honored. Thank you for this!!! Wait till I tell my husband..he thinks I’m the world’s WORST real life schmoozer!!!!
Yay me.
And Yay You! For getting out there and finding something that makes you feel good!
I wish I had that confidence!!!!
You rock and rule woman!
I’m still hugging the cat!!!!
Yeah! I’m so glad Charimsa is eating, even if just a little. Maybe she doesn’t like the carpet. You’re not feeding her on the carpet are you? Kidding.
I’m sorry honored you gave me an award. I’ll blog about when I get back. After I figure out how to get the little button thing to show up.
Good job going to LLL; that worked out well here.
Good luck at the shelter. Just hope you don’t end up like us, with Jamie wanting to get rid of the old dog. New pets are so much more fun. Fickle child.
I should be packing to go on vacation; this is so much more fun. Jamie is sick, so we’re going to San Diego to not see my sister. Ah, the joys.
You are so sweet!! As I still try to find my way in this world of blogging that means tons.
Glad Charisma is having a bit to eat, crossing fingers he keeps it up. Poor Becca I hope she finds her way thru whatever happens. Ethan my goodness that boy is strong, and as cute as ever.
You are such a legend getting out there and meeting new faces! Well done! And glad to hear Charisma is a bit better and eating a bit more too.
Well congratulations you schmoozer
Congrats on being a great schmoozer!
Yay for getting out and meeting people! That’s what makes me the most nervous when we move.
I hope Charisma starts eating more! I hope Becca is doing okay, it’s always hard for them.
good for you on getting out and trying to meet people even when you didn’t feel like it! Hope you make some nice friends from the LLL meetings! Still praying for Charisma!
Congratulations on your award. You so deserve it. I hope your cat starts to eat better. It’s tough when kids or pets are sick or not eating…communication is difficult.
Soccer Mom In Denial. Love that description.
