I have to admit that although this week has been extremely trying, it has also bonded our family together. There has been much laughter, some tears, a lot of creativity and many snuggles, wrestles, kisses and hugs. Surprisingly, Becca’s meltdowns have been few, mostly arriving after an exhausting day. Ethan has taken to chilling out on the floor or being in our arms. We four have had an intimate week. It went by alarmingly quick. I feel under-prepared for the week to come. J begins orientation and lab training Monday.
We had hoped to received word that our mystical belongings would be delivered Monday, however we are still in the dark. It is a relief to have a phone and internet. I have read through ALL my bloglines (you all have been busy!), commenting when I had a free hand.
My hips are aching from nursing, sitting, and lying on the floor. I am yet to be fully healed from giving birth and my body is screaming for reprive! We purchased a beautiful patio set with the cash we made from the sale of our fridge that allows us to eat our meals with table and chairs. It is amazing to eat outside, in the fresh mountain air every meal. I hope that we will continue to escape there once our furniture arrives.
Who knew furniture was so darn important. If I never have to sit on the floor again it will be too soon. Not having all the kitchen supplies, spices and other gear makes cooking a challenge. We purchased a bread maker! I am so excited! I have wanted one for a while now (always envious of Holly and Marina’s breads & loaves!) We made our first loaf of bread the other day … it was so yummy! We made a whole wheat loaf (Becca was a tad disappointed it was not one like the Ladies always made … please send me recipes!) I am so looking forward to exploring the machine more and making a ton of breads and loaves.
We went garage sale shopping again this morning (new addiction?!?! Maybe!) and scored a few more things for Becca to keep her imagination fueled. A few books, some rubber duckies (she has a thing for then because of Ernie’s Rubber Duckie song!) and an Animal Shop that came with cages, animals … everything one would need ot run a pet store! She is loving it! I found a bag of wool, enough to knit a sweater … $5! I will post pics soon!
Speaking of pictures … I uploaded a whole whack of them up on Flickr today. Pretty much our trip out, the view from the Hill and house pics.

Your little mountain town is dreamy!
Oh darling Chelle!
Sorry for my absence but with my computer woes it was dang near intolerable to download your love-l-y site but voila! we got a new computer so now I am back.
Yeah for the mountain town! And thanks for your visits. I love knowing you’re out there.
It’s amazing how trials and tribulations can bond our families, isn’t it? I’m glad you’re surviving. I love your new patio set!
By the way, thanks for your interest in my Pay It Forward book exchange! I’ll be kicking it off with a book giveaway on Monday, 9 July, so please stop by and enter to win!
Wow what a nice view to enjoy while you eat. Nice patio set, we bought a new one the other day but can’t pick it up till Tues.
I found our move here really changed our relationship, definately for the better. It gave me personally a new view that as long as I had my DH and kids all would be good. Our move has made us stronger.
Mmmmmm bread maker sounds like a fun purchase.
You sound like you’re settling in despite the lack of furniture! Hope it arrives soon!
I can’t imagine dealing with two kids without proper furniture etc.. I had a hard enough time settling back here with Joey because he didn’t have all his toys and stuff but at least my parents’ house has other things all set up. I really hope your things arrive soon!
Great Outdoor Set! I can’t believe your stuff is still out there somewhere. Welcome back BTW, am enjoying reading about your new home ……… just like reading a novel!
love your patio furniture! I love eating outside too, however we don’t do it that often.
Congrats on your breadmaker. I love ours. We’re already on our 2nd, they don’t seem to last as long as one would hope. They are awesome! I rarely make bread in it though, it always seems to be pizza dough or past or buns. I have made some awesome breads in it, my fave by far has to be the pizza loaf however, it doesn’t go with everything you eat.
He he about the garage sales, I love shopping them too but don’t have nearly enough time to go around. If we do move then the kids will have a playroom & I will be on the hunt for a lot of play toys, like kitchen & other fun things. Yard sales rock!
I love the patio set.
My husband makes bread all the time…I love it freshly baked.
My daughter loves her some rubber duckies too…She plays with them every day…
I send you furniture delivery vibes…I hope it sends your stuff soon.
Nice table! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bread machine – good purchase!
Just checking in before stepping out. I must have gotten vibes from you because bread machine recipes were going to be the next I was going to post. Before the end of the day. Off to check flickr before leaving. Hope your stuff comes soon.
That looks like a perfect little town – but it would probably be MORE perfect with furniture.
I’m glad for your new purchases. What a view to eat by. I pray your things will come Monday. It’s nice to have our things to make us feel at home.
at least you’re making the best out of this situation and able to get so much family bonding time in!
You certainly have earned a sit on a chair…and a sleep in a bed. Wow. I just read your last five or so posts, and I’m tired, just as an observer. What’s great is how actively you keep appreciating your kids, in the midst of all this chaos!
I guess you must experience tears to know what true laughter is, huh? Love the photos.
Have a great week ahead.
Mike

Poor thing! Until you get your furniture you really can’t rest. But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, huh? (And sorer.)
Your NM town is so beautiful! It looks perfect. I love the patio set & home too. How is the weather there? Is it hot year round or do you have seasons? Oh, I guess I should look that up on my own.
What an inviting deck and patio set. Hang in there and take care.
