Running Behind
Pic of the Day ~ Becca and Ethan ~
I hope everyone had a nice Earth Day! I know I am a little behind here but, eh better late than never! I am discovering that it will take some new approaches to live the life the way we did before Ethan arrived, and be on time.
Michelle from Scribbit just had a post on being late, I find it horrific to be late, yet that is what I find myself achieving, bringing me much anxiety.
I celebrated Earth Day, by knitting with Marina in the morning (wool is totally a renewable resource!) then after lunch, the family went to Santa Rosa Plateau for a hike. Ethan was bundled up in the Mei Tei and Becca was AMAZING hiking almost a mile and a half before J put her up on his shoulders. It was wonderful.
Yesterday, we spent the day at the park with Holly and Jamie. Always a good time. Holly shared yet another meal with us (she totally spoils me!!!) that was fabulous! I made good progress on a new knitting project that I want to get done for a friend’s baby girl.
Ethan is spitting up after eating. Becca was not a spitter-uper, so I am a little baffled by it. The last few nights he has had trouble sleeping, due to digestive issues. Yet during the day, the digestive issues are not so apparent. Last night, although still a bit of a challenge was much much better, allowing J & I both much needed sleep. I was all geared up to go to bed early then had to stay up to watch Heroes! hehe! Priorities!
Becca, Ethan and I are going on an errand spree this morning. We hope to hit 2 grocery stores and one addition store. It is a race against time (I hope to complete it all in between feedings for Ethan!) If we do not complete our mission, we have an open day tomorrow to run the errands missed!
At some point I would like to return everyone’s emails, finish projects that were started and organize myself. Oh and if you feel like we are in limbo on the moving/job thing, know that as soon as we know, I will share it all with you! (oh if the comments I leave are short and a little funky please know that it was probably due to one-handed, I am nursing while trying to stay in contact, commenting
)

Hey -
Try going to http://www.eztvefnet.org/ and download your tv - it’s much easier with kids to watch it when you want to and pause it to pee!
Your kids look great together!
I found nursing amazingly compatible with blogging! We celebrated earth day by cleaning out our gardens.
Snuggle Bug used to be a spitter too! I don’t know how many outfits I had spit on…I lost count. Eventually he grew out of that. Now he just spits out his food because he thinks it’s a riot!
Glad to hear you got a bit more sleep last night. Hang in there!
I love his little sticky-out toes. Good to hear that you’re getting a little more sleep, I’m sure it will get better (and I always say it’s a good thing they’re so cute at that age, otherwise the 2 am wakeups wouldn’t be nearly so endearing).
Happy Belated Earth Day! I have to try some of that wool yarn! Expand my horizons!
OMG! I could have written this post myself. I also like to arrive on time & ever since Emma arrived we’ve always seem to be late for everything too.
Nate was not a spitter either & Emma was too. She even projectile vomited a few times, yuck, so not what I was used to dealing with. Luckily that has gone away a few weeks ago & now she just blows bubbles.
Our last night was better but Emma still is having some digestive problems.
Have fun running errands. We’re off to the grocery store.
Oh & wasn’t Heroes good? like it wouldn’t be, lol
Oh, I really dislike being late too! Why, oh why does Olivia always need a final rush to the toilet, once we are in the car, or Theo a nappy change as we are walking out the door????? What on earth is Earth day? and …. hubby loves Heroes, and is trying to get me into it too. He has already got me hooked on LOST - and is trying to convince me that I need Heroes and Prison Break. I have only sooooo much TV watching time spare!!!! Good luck with the Groceries!
He’s beautiful! Congratulations!
I love that picture too!
Aww I hope you are able to get everything done. Happy earth day and I hope you had a great one!
Lady, how do you DO it all? I am in total amazement of everything you accomplish. You rock!
Enjoy this time..>And blog happily with one hand…we all love you no matter what.
SF spit up for a good while after she ate…It looked like she was spewing her entire meal..but in reality it was just a teaspoonful…Don’t get discouraged. Some babies do that. As long as he’s gaining and growing…he’ll be just fine.
Typing while nursing! I used to do that with my daughter (couldn’t with the boys since they would nurse at the same time). Truly multi-tasking in my book.
Good for you, sounds like you are doing great and getting out lots.
Oh that toe. I love that toe! This morning I was nursing my daughter while having a cup of the verboten (coffee, coffee, mmm, mama loves coffee) and she kept popping off to smile and say : HAWT. HAWT!
Travis had reflux so I can totally sympathize with you on the spitting up. One thing that helped was to keep him sort of sitting up (just not laying flat) for about 20 minutes after he would eat. I hope it gets better soon!
Ethan looks like a little doll on Becca’s lap!
That’s amazing you’re attempting to do errands with the little guy. In my baby’s earlier days, I would be a nervous wreck taking him in public because of what you said — trying to get everything done between feedings! And then there are the diaper changes! Ack!
