Pic of the Day ~ The Tired Munchkin and Her Cat~
Yesterday I was in part denial and part procrastination. Now for a disclaimer …. I am NOT worried at all, so please do not worry either.
J, Becca and I went to see the Obstetrician yesterday. Everything is look great (w00t), we got a little nervous because they took my blood pressure with the machine and it read a little higher, but nothing to be concerned about. I am a little nervous about it because pre-eclampsia is so not something I want to experience again.
Then our doctor wanted to discuss the results of our ultrasound. Little Ethan looks awesome and he is developing wonderfully, however my placenta is “lying low”. It is called Placenta Previa. Now when you Google it, placenta previa sounds REALLY scary. I remember distinctly getting a little freaked out when while pregnant with Becca, our OB mentioned it. Given time, my uterus grew and the placenta no longer covered the cervix, I am uber confident the same will happen this pregnancy. My uterus is tilted backwards, so I think that has something to do with it. The big thing is, if it does not appear to move (which it really doesn’t mover per say the uterus just gets bigger so the placenta does not cover the cervix), I will start to bleed and we will have to have a c-section. Not terrible, not ideal.
Again I am not worried at all. I go for another ultrasound in three weeks to see if my uterus grew and the placenta is no longer covering the cervix, at that point we will know more. I am content that I am not a huge swollen mess like last time. I so want this little guy to bake in the oven till the due date! hehe! Here is a self portrait of the belly to ease your minds *wink*
I did NOT get to knit last night … grrr! The little monster sweetheart, had difficulties sleeping and we were pretty much forced to go to sleep ourselves. It appears if we are in bed with the lights out she gives up and goes to sleep. I am not a fan of this development but need sleep eventually and really really want her to sleep too. We may be shopping for a night light soon, I am just not sure if it will help. She really just wants one of us to stay, snuggle and reassure her. Something I do not mind doing for a few minutes then allowing her to fall asleep on her own. I am so hoping we figure out something soon! Mommy gets cranky if she does not have a little time on her own!

I’m glad you’re not worried. If you’re not worried, I’m not worried. But, you know, maybe just a little bit.
PS Your belly is so cute!
Glad to hear that things aren’t worrisome. Let’s hope it all works out just as you think it will.
Aw, Chelle – I know that’s a bit scary to hear. I had placenta previa twice, in my last two pregnancies. In my second pregnancy, I actually had to go on bedrest for four months of my pregnancy but I got through it, my placenta moved in the final month (yay!) and I didn’t need a c-section. And in my third pregnancy, I had placenta previa at an earlier point of the pregnancy – like you – and it moved up, like most placentas eventually do. Please don’t worry!
Thanks for sharing the picture of your cute belly! I’m hoping that in three weeks that everything is right on track!
I had pre-eclampsia with my first daughter and had bed rest and all that jazz. they ended out taking her a month early. Then with my son I had placenta previa no sex for a few months. Then it moved up and everything was ok.
Wonderful Blog!
I think our kids are conspiring against us, to see what will happen to us with no sleep.
Her and George are in on it together.
Ugh. Sorry to hear that but happy that it’s nothing major. I have had many a preggo friend go through that same thing. Get that uterus growing….
hug.
I am glad that you are not worrying about everything, I hope your uterus does lots of growing by your next ultrasound! Your belly looks so cute..damn all you glowing pregnant women who are making me broody!!!
Wow! Hopefully in three weeks all will be well and come April you’ll be looking at your sweet baby boy! In the mean time, it sounds like you’ll have enough knitting to keep your mind occupied
I am glad things are okay. That sounds scary. Take care of yourself!
What a neat lil bump…you look great
Praying RIGHT NOW for no complications!
What a cute belly!
I had the same thing with the placenta with Elias and as my uterus grew it went up. So I am confident that yours will too. I am really glad your not worried, great out look is a wonderful thing. HUGS!
I coped with a myriad of health problems during my two pregnancies. You’ve got the right attitude to stay positive and worry when it is time to!
Regarding sleep, I’m taking the “they want us now” approach. I’ve got 6-year-olds crawling into my bed once a week. It is actually nice to snuggle with them.
Belly is cute!! Glad to see updated pic.
I’m glad you’re not worried & I’m jelous you get to see your little bean again, lol.
I hope the sleep problems come to an end soon. This is probably just a phase.
Yay for a healthy baby! It’s great that you’re not worried about the PP. Other than the actual baby, there’s nothing more beautiful than a pregnant belly. Gorgeous!
Just back after such a long break. My Bretty has given me 25 minutes here to re-connect with the cyber life I immerse myself in and I have to say your blog has been a great read. I’ll think some more and post some thoughts on circumcision. Love the belly shot, still hanging for some wedding pics!
I hope things will go smoothly for you. I was worried but your confidence has convinced me not to worry. Take care girl.
I’m sure it was scary to hear the news from the ultrasound – but I think you’re doing the right thing about not worrying…worrying won’t change anything anyway and just causes more stress. Sounds like you have a plan in place which is good. Will be praying the uterus grows by the next appt! Cute pg belly too!
That does sound scary; glad it’s not as bad as it sounds. Thanks for sharing your “belly shot,” you look cute!
Oh yeah it isn’t as bad as it sounds. I was preeclamptic with my oldest and I am right there with you hoping you don’t experience it again!!
Love the belly – my baby fever is starting to come back and that didn’t help. LOL
Hey babe, I havent been on for awhile…but just to let you know. the previa thing. It will be fine. Its like anything else that happens in a pregnancy..you just go with the flow..not to downplay anyones experience at all…so you named him? Thats awesome…
