Ice Princess
Thursday, December 21st, 2006Pic of the Day ~ Becca Ice Skating! ~
This evening we took Becca skating for the first time. They have an outdoor rink set up in the downtown area, so we thought it would be a fun experience to take Becca down there. We left it a surprise and Becca was so excited once she realized what we were up too!
She skated for almost half an hour! She did really well. Obviously we supported her the entire time, yet she felt like she was skating like a princess! It was adorable to watch her slip and slide on the ice!
Totally funny to listen to Southern Californians giggle and talk about the people ice skating! Every time some would fall or lift a skate there would be Oooo’s and Ahhh’s! hehe! A few parents were surprised that we would take Becca out on the ice. I figure it not like we signed her up for professional lessons, it was for the experience!
Afterwards we wandered a bit, however the downtown here is so not a place to be after dark so we headed for a bite to eat. Becca had a lovely time and it was a great kick off to J’s Christmas vacation!
This week has been so busy with visiting and volunteering! Yesterday, Becca and I went on a knit/play date and she exchanged presents with the boys. It was so sweet! They gave her the cutest porcelain tea set and a great book! They seemed to enjoy the books she gave to them.
Then today we had friends over here. Becca does not have a lot of practice being a hostess! In fact she was a bit of a bully! We need to have more friends over so she can get a better grasp on how to act with people at home! It was still a lovely time and I have all my pre-Christmas cleaning done! I even baked cookies this morning! Just call me Martha!
Tomorrow, Becca and I are wrapping presents for the adopted family then we are looking forward to hanging out with J. Only a few more days until Christmas!!! I was so organized now I feel like time is running out!
I need some advise! We received an amazing gift from JoAnne, a month of Netflix! So what movies would you rent?!?! We are so out of the loop. We watched DaVinci Code last night. I liked the book better, however the movie was good too.
Oh almost done the pants, I just have to weave in the ends and wash and block them! They turned out so cute! Hopefully by Christmas I will have completed them and take a picture! I also completed a template design for a fellow blogger. Trisha from Mommy Colored Glasses has a brand look for the holidays! I am so happy she likes it, it was so fun to create!
Wow half way through the pre-Christmas week. Where is the time going? Yesterday Becca and I joined some other moms to do some shopping for an unfortunate family that our Mom’s Club adopted for Christmas this year. Becca enjoyed seeing her friends there.
I cannot believe that Christmas is a mere one week away!! J and I were talking and really it seems only like a moment ago that we thought Christmas felt forever away! I am thanking the heavens that the stomach bug was gone in 24 hours. Jimmy Crickets, that was BAD! I am pretty sure in my delusional state of mind my potty mouth had much more choice words for it too! So far my husband, who is campaigning for Sainthood, has come out unscathed by the dreaded bug that masks itself as death.
I have been knitting like a fiend trying to finish up Becca’s pants before she outgrows them! I have one more pant leg to finish (ever notice a pant leg never ever looks done it just keep going and going). I have been working away at the baby’s blanket too, only to discover two of my stitches split and now I have to wrestle with it to fix it or rip it out like over half way!!! Ahh the joys of knitting! Becca and I are going to play/knit with Marina and her boys on Wednesday! We like play/knit mornings! I picked up a few books for her boys for Christmas. Awww Marina gave the bay his first present! Isn’t it cute?!?!? It looks so tiny, it is so easy to forget they come that SMALL!

Well after drinking a ton of water and waking up way too early this morning, we headed over for the ultrasound. As a side note, no one warned me that a Tea Party could last until after midnight! I am so tired!
