Meeting, Playgrounds, Mountains …. Exhausted

JoAnne and Ryan picked us up this morning so we could jet over to our Moms club meeting. I was somehow coerced into being a coordinator (hehe by a very persuasive and sweet Mom) of a program. It is cool though, nice to be an active member in a club. The meeting went well. Becca was a little intimidated by the sheer energy of all the other kids but played along fine eventually.
Afterwards we headed to an indoor playground attached to McDonald’s (see I am listening to the Doctor! HAHA!) mostly because when it is 110 F outside, seriously what else can you do with two year olds?!?! We had lunch and met up with some other really cool moms (from the other moms club we are in hehe!) then headed up to the mountains.
Becca and I have been to the mountains before. We have been sledding in California … hehe! This time it was to escape the heat! It is so beautiful and quiet and awesome up there!! I love it!
The trail to the stream was rocky and rough, however Becca did an amazing job (although painfully slow at times) navigating through it (once Mommy remembered to give her a break and quit being so impatient!) Once to the cool stream, all the effort was worth it! We sat in the cold mountain water and chatted the afternoon away, while all the kids played happily!! It was so so so so nice!
The weather up there was a little crazy. We had some thunder (although no lightening was visible). It was funny because if you faced one way it was clear skies, if you looked behind you it was nasty stormy looking. So naturally I chose to face the clear sky 
. We were responsible and moved the kids to a safer, more covered area when the thunder seemed to get closer. It rained a little but it was still so awesome to get a break from the heat.
Petite Mommy, I thought of you often since one of our conversations was based on home schooling. I, am not sold on the notion, however I totally respect Mothers that dedicate themselves like that to their kids education. Cool there are alternatives.
I am tuckered out. Becca is zonked (no nap for the wicked today!) It will be a quiet evening here at the soodz household (little fyi soodz our last name, not so much 
)
Becca is a wee cutie. And it sounds as if you are doing a great job. I suspect your doctor is wrong about TV. It absolutely won’t hurt her to watch no TV at all - evidence is mounting that it is bad for children. On the other hand, if you let her watch limited TV for your own sanity - it *is* a great babysitter - then it probably won’t hurt her too much, either. There are far too man pressures on parents these days.

Wow. You are so lucky to have such places at your feet. I’m sure you had a blast and Becca is striving from the layout of your land…Happy you had a fun day. On days like that, who needs a nap anyway…it would just break up the fun and adventure…

The mountains sound nice about now. It’s not as hot as it has been, but it is still pretty uncomfortable. Hey, at least there is not humidity.
