As I mentioned earlier this week, Her Bad Mother had an awesome idea to honour the blogging mommies we admire the most, in lieu of Mother’s Day! Over the last couple days I have thought about it a great deal. Often these ideas that spread like wild fire, although sweet and good intentions, turn into a popularity contest. Those situations I try to avoid, since it hurts people’s feelings. Honestly, every woman on my blog list is someone I admire, hence why I read their blog and try to encourage others to do the same. So here it goes, if I forget anyone it is not on purpose, especially since all of you mean so much to me. (There is no particular order here either!!)
There are those bloggers that have been with me from the beginning. Chele has read my blog forever! She is an amazing Mother, with the coolest job EVER. She works hard, is totally funny & creative. My first theme was designed by the ever talented Jennifer at GeeksMakeMeHot.com. She is a huge creative inspiration to me and is a wonderful Mom to her Pug. Speaking of Mother’s of cute and adorable dogs, Stale Betty makes me laugh, think & is another creative muse. Char amazes me not only for her talent & creativity, but also her wonderful ability to be a rocking single mom. I was single mother for 9 days and I am sure that does not even come close to the challenges Char must face, yet she glows through it! Marz & Nic are friends from RL that have amazing blogs, they have made me laugh, smile, cry and have always been there for me. Lisa from Happiness is a Good Nap, has seen me at my best and my worst, and yet still comes back for more. She seems to cruise through most of the crazy rocky roads life keep throwing her way and come out smiling! Maggie has a cunning way of making me feel so special, I always enjoy reading her blog, she has a vast knowledge on children development and always makes me smile!
Many awesome moms have found me or have been found along the way. Safa means Tranquil has exposed me to new ways of thinking, open-mindness and her approach to motherhood is awesome. Andie is an amazing mother and person. I admire her beyond belief for her courage! Stephanie is too cool! A mother of a one year old and another one on the way, she is cool and calm! I hate to admit this, but I idolize and kinda stalk Pajama Mamma. Her courage, commitment, love, strength and knowledge absolutely blows my mind. I can only hope to strive to be a woman like her. Holy Mama makes me laugh like no other. Her shoe and chocolate addictions makes my day! Silent K has inspired me creatively more than anyone else. I have been sketching more and doing more digital art since finding her in the blog world. I totally loved reading about Kj from RaisingDevils preparation for her third baby to be born. Mama Bee Hive is a regular stop for me as well. She balances the art of a working mother with style and grace. Nightin Gale always leaves me in awe when she posts her wonderful poems, sayings and photos. My Life in a Kid Zoo is going through a family struggle, but keeps her head high and supports her husband and still makes me laugh and enlightens me! I know I am not the only one that is a big fan of Mrs Fortune! Her wit and humour, mixed in with her raw emotions keeps me captiviated. Kvetch wows me with her abilty to write and her amazing strength as a woman and a mother. I am at a complete loss trying to figure out how she does it all and with such grace.
Neither Anonymuis or Heather are mothers yet I just cannot seem to convince myself not to include them. My tribute to all those I admire, just would not be complete without them. Heather has a dog, so that counts. The way in which Anonymuis respects and honours her parents is what I hope for my daughter.
In the last two months, my little blog has grown. Readers seem to come and go, however I have encountered to many amazing mothers, that I am just starting to get to know. Many are new to blogging while others have been blogging for quite some time. Since my daughter only naps for so long, I am unable to give you a short description of each one. Please trust me in saying all these mothers, women, super heros … they are worth reading. (these words do not give these women justice nor do they describe them, I needed a way to include them in my tribute!)
There are many Mothers that I admire that do not maintain a blog…however to you and all the mother’s that blog Becca, J & I all wish you an Amazing Mother’s Day!!
