Our Last Day…
Pic of the Day ~ Becca at Snack Time

Well it is officially the last day Becca and I are on our own. J returns just after midnight tonight (I hope to stay awake but phew am I tired!) The days have flown by quickly, full of fun Mom & Kid stuff, new adventures (ie the glasses) and laughter.
Becca completely amazes me. This whole glasses thing could have been a disaster. We could have been scratching our eyes out trying to get her to wear them. However that is so not the case! Becca wore her glasses all day once again. It is like she has already accepted them as part of her world. I tried them, just to see, seriously my kid is as blind as a BAT! (are bats truly blind?) The patch is really starting to drive her nuts. We cannot scrub the old glue from the bandage off, and we just keep adding a new one. It sucks…6 more days thank goodness (unless of course the doc comes back and says she needs it longer…ugh!)
We had a wonderful play date with the ever so awesome mom & son team that took care of Charisma (the cat) while we were gone on vacation. Her son is just over a year old and oh such a cutie pie!! Becca was GREAT, shared her toys, handing him some and being ever so sweet. She even was all comfortable with the other Mom, which is so not like her, Becca is usually all shy and freaked out. I was shocked, Becca even shared HER cat!! It was like I was in the twilight zone! Yet I was so proud!! I am glad it went well, because it is so nice to be able to host a play date!
After dinner I took Becca to a video rental store. My calm, usually well behaved toddler went WILD…I mean WILD! She ran up and down the isles (thank gawd not ripping videos off the shelves). The entire time we were there, Becca was running and running and running, it looked really cute because she had picked up a leaf outside and she ran with it in her hand the entire time!! Thankfully the video dude was really nice and did not condemn me to hell for having such an unruly child. She never did make a mess (before we left I double checked) and she was sweet to everyone. I think these glasses are not only helping Becca see, they are also giving her confidence she has never had!
Ooooo one last note! Becca received a package full of goodies from her Grandma M. The best part, was the castle Becca received in Canada to play with and we did not have room to bring back was in there. Oh Oh and a School bus, and a make noise thing (always the Grandparents sending things that make noise eh? hehe joking it rocks!) Oh one last very cool thing….shhhh do not tell Becca but her ever cool Grandma M found a Dora that fills with air and has a Happy Birthday sign (you know the ones that people put on their lawns!!!) It is so totally cool!!!! AND Becca received some new books!!! OH OH hehe I keep forgetting things….My Father-in-law sent me a cool clip to the keys and diaper bag clock!!! He had given me one before and I actually wore the sucker out! (and the battery died). A big Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You!
I am off to watch a chic flick!!!!!! For the first time since we arrived in California!! How pathetic is that?

There is nothing pathetic about you, Chelle. And Becca looks darling in the glasses. But best of all — she can see! She can see books, toys, you…and herself. How cool is that!
Glad you did so well on your time alone…makes you realize that you can do anything, huh?
She looks so proud in her glasses! That is awsome how well she has taken to them.
Glad these few days have flown by for you and your hubby will be back soon!
It sounds like you had a lot of mother-daughter fun while daddy was gone!
Oh and enjoy your chick flick too. Haven’t seen one of those in ages!
She still looks very cute.
Have a great week ahead!
Welcome home, J!
Oo, Becca is so cute. Just adorable. And she is doing such a good job wearing the glasses.
Try rubbing Vasaline on the stuck on stickies. Let the vasaline soak in and the sticky should rub off easier. If not Rubbing Alcohol will get it off too, but more rubbing is needed.
Sounds like you two had a great day. Very relaxed and fun.
She looks so great in those glasses! Makes me want to buy some for my toddler just for looks!
