How About That
Pic of the Day ~ Becca Posing for the Camera

We all headed out shopping this morning!! (J took the whole day off!!! One would think he missed us!!) We went to the beautiful outdoor mall, that includes the Apple Store, the Thomas Store and so so much more. We browsed the Apple Store first….OOooo they are so lovely!! Thankfully Becca got bored so we had to leave, or I would have stayed all day!!
I mention shopping, not only because that is what we did today, but also because something remarkable happened. It may not be remarkable to you, however it definitely was for me. I have never been a size two and probably never will be unless I get a hip and a couple of ribs removed (can that be done?!?!) In even my glory days I was never smaller than an eight and more of a ten. I am a curvey girl and proud of it (when the curves are a tad smaller, at the moment I need work!)
Pregnancy worked my body over and then some. It moved things around and the curves well are different. I am five pounds away from pre-pregnancy weight (although that was not all that good either). Yet I am way more fit and healthy than I was before I was pregnant with Becca. I am more active, being a full on computer geek before having a child. I am actually taking this time that I am not pregnant to try to get in better shape. My trying includes cutting out a lot of snack food (we have been awesome about this!) and being even more active with Becca. I do not have the motivation to be at a gym by 6 am to work out, nor do I have the will to go to a gym after J gets home from work. It would be nice to have that kind of motivation, but I am being honest here! So instead Becca & I go for walks, go on adventures, tour Disneyland and the zoo.
Until the last week or so I figured it wasn’t really working and I would have to step it up a notch somehow. Then I lost on whole pound!! I was so excited! I know it is not a lot, but it was different in a good way so I was happy. I have noticed my shorts are a little big, however I was looking at the scale for results. It seems I have done that in error. While shopping today, I discovered I am a whole size smaller than the last time I shopped for shorts!!!!! I talking GAP size smaller. I was in shock, trying on the cute jean skirt, only to discover the smaller size did not create the mushroom effect!!!
I have been on the verge of a smaller size forever now! The size smaller being not right, yet the larger size looking a little frumpy. I was over the moon to discover I would be sporting a a smaller size. It is a huge motivator to say “no” to the snacks and get moving even more!! YAY!
As a family we all went swimming in the pool, but it was a little too cold so we filled Becca’s kiddie pool up for her. After dinner Becca and I walked to the store to pick up a few things for supper tomorrow. We are crock potting it tomorrow, then Becca & I are heading to Disneyland for the day!!! There are only a few more weeks and a couple days in each week before we are blacked out for the summer, so my goal is to hit Disneyland once a week!
I am off to read some blogs, I got a little behind this weekend working on the almost finished design…Now that there are only reruns on I should be able to finish them faster!!

YOU GO GIRL!
I so know how you feel about the weight thing. Sounds like you are doing WELL! Even little steps are worth it. Whoo hoo!
YAY!! I need to start doing something similar but I always find myself reaching for snack food when I am at home with J. I guess we need to follow your example and get out and about more!
Clothing sizes are way more rewarding than the number on the scale. Congrats! I completely wish I had that remarkable experience.
I love this blog! (You must come visit me at ninepouddictator.blogspot.com)
Anyway, doesn’t it feel great to lose the baby weight? And walks, just walks, works.. No one likes to believe this because they think its’ too easy, but getting in shape is all about the walks!
I found I started gaining weight again when all my daughter would eat would be french fries, fro lunch and dinner…of course, it was me, her mother, finishing the plate off, because who can say no to french fries, right? SO watch out for that point!
love your blog and she is so adorable!
That’s awesome that J had a day off!
As per the weight thing - I wish I could drop a clothing size or two. For some reason lately all I want to do is eat - I’m not heavy, but I’m sure I am chunky. And no….I’m not pregnant…
Way to go Chelle! No matter what size it is, a size smaller is ALWAYS wonderful.
CONGRATS!!
Hey! Congrats! Gap sizes are smaller than other sizes with more space in between so you have made a HUGE accomplishment! That’s like 2 normal sizes!
That is so awesome!! Great Job! It feels so great to get some results from all the work. I am so happy for you.
I made my husband a pact. If I can get to 125, which is right now 65+ lbs away with baby, then I get a whole new wordrobe. Whatever I want. I got only 25 lbs away from the last baby weight and then I got PG! I will get there after this baby!
That really is excellent, pregnancy does work you over quite a bit and loosing that weight is hard. I never did get back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I learned to become comfy in my new size and I must admit I feel a little better having some meat on my little bones. Good for you! I also have been cutting out snack foods and less coffee (EEK!) but in the end I’ll be healthier for it.
P.S. I checked the post and it seemed ok, you may have to refresh it one time.
Congrats to you! I’m sure it felt awsome to know you lost one whole size! That’s great and wonderful motivation to keep up what you’re doing! Sounds like it was such a great day all around!
THAT IS AWESOME *doing the funky dance for ya*!!!
Now can you rub some of that motivation over here. I am struggling with that lately. UGH!!!
CONGRATS MOMMA! Can we see a pic of you modling your GAP shorts
Congrats on being a size smaller! Good for you.
I’m not much into exercising for the sake of exercising, but I need to do more to stay healthy. I think I’m more active as Snuggle Bug’s mama than I have been in a while. Now I take him for walks, dance with him, swim with him, etc. It’s the fun kind of exercising!
It has been confirmed that doing household chores and walking makes you lose weight though the effects may not be that drastic.
Shopping!!! I love doing this too. Wish I had the time to do this more.
Happy Wednesday!
I wish I could get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight!!! Congrats to you on the loss.
And Becca looks adorable.
