Pic of the Day ~ Becca at the Bug’s Life Water Park in Disneyland!
becca at disney

Becca, J & I went on an adventure to Walmart today! I have mentioned in previous posts that I am not an eager fan of Walmart, however they had the tires in stock that we needed and their price was right so off we went. Becca had a blast tearing through the aisles, then falling in love with a pink Care Bear. She was quite broken hearted when mommy & daddy told her the bear lived in Walmart and needed to stay to keep the other bears company (I was sad to, can you imagine living in Walmart, yuck!) We were off to Costco for massive bulk goods that we have no room to store! The place was packed so we rushed to get the 5 lbs honey, diapers and filters, zoomed through the check out, fought the traffic home, then Becca napped forever, exhausted from our adventures.

Becca’s word of the day is “chicken”. If you ask her any question that she does not know the answer to, the answer is chicken. “Becca would you like to have snack?” “Chicken”…lol quite adorable.

This evening we let her pick the story before bed. Up until now we have been the controller of the story and Becca happily listened to the stories we read. Tonight she knew exactly which book she wanted and would not take any second best books. Ironically it was the book we read last night, so tonight we read “The Little Engine the Could” again!

Feel free to skip the last part of this post if you are utterly bored by me going on about geek stuff and designing, it is ok Grandma you do not have to read that part, Love you and I am glad you are feeling better!

A week ago I received a request concerning my current theme. The person asked me if they could use my theme on their blog (adding their own personal flair ofcourse). I sat staring at the email in shock. Someone likes my theme . After some consideration and debate in my head I decided to share my theme with the stranger. It was not too long ago (approaching one year in fact), that I was new to blogging and searching for that one theme I could call my own. I found Jennifer at geeksmakemehot.com and started with her beautiful Daisy Rae Gemni theme. Not only did I receive an awesome theme & support, I also made a blog buddy! Now it is my turn to contribute to the blog cosmos with my theme. I am honoured and a little freaked out that my theme will grace the pages of blogs everywhere…That sounds like I am some sort of blog Super Hero!! hahahaha! If you are using Wordpress and would like to download the theme, go here.

Now I am working on yet another theme for this blog (pppssshhhaaa I have to be unique!). It is coming along nicely and every time I work on a theme, I get fast and better at the css and php stuff…it is wicked cool. I should work on it a bit more before Sorpranos starts….Love that show!!!

Pic of the Day ~ Becca Sliding down the Hill On her Butt!

becca at the parkBecca and I had an awesome and very busy morning. We did laundry, returned the bottles for recycling, mailed a letter and picked up some groceries. By lunch we were both exhausted and napped wonderfully!!

J came home while we were napping, then took Becca out to the park while I cooked and cleaned (I totally did not get the best of that deal!). I prepared California Rolls for dinner (they totally did not work out as well as they normally do and that totally bummed me out!). They tasted great, just did not roll all pretty like.

Becca surprises us everyday with her ever expanding vocabulary. Lately she has been saying “Teaco” which I thought was “tickle”, so I would tickle her like crazy every time she said it. hehe, well she was referring to “Tico”, Dora’s little squirrel friend. Poor kid was being tickled every time she talked about Tico!

Pic of the Day ~ Becca Dancing at Disneyland

becca at disneyBecca and I decided today would be a great day to go to Disneyland. It is another bright and sunny day in California, perfect for touring the happiest place on earth . We attempted to leave as early as possible, making it out of the house by 8am!

The drive there was great, I even had the opportunity to try out our cruise control. Oooo what a weird feeling! It is like the car drives itself!!! Creepy yet oddly relaxing at the same time.

Becca and I wandered over to see Pooh Bear and his pals first thing. We went on the Pooh ride (as we always do), normally she sits on my nap however today she sat on the seat herself. Freaked her out a little, not having that extra security of my lap, but she did awesome. She still would not go near Pooh bear or touch him and told Tigger “NO” when he started to walk towards her. When she saw “Woody” from Toy Story she started to cry!!! I guess she figures they should not be real!!!

We went on a train ride, which Becca totally enjoyed! We sat in the cage box car (like for wild animals!) so she felt really secure! Then we went over the the California Adventure side of the park and went on the new Monsters INC ride. That one freaked Becca out a little towards the end, but she did awesome. Next we stopped at the theatre that hosts the “Talk to Crush” interactive show, we sat and watched clips of Disney movies while we ate our smuggled in lunch (dudes I am so not buying lunch there every time, it is FREAKIN expensive!! PB sandwiches smuggled in under the diapers works fine..if you are a Disney employee reading this please forget I said that). After our yummy lunch we talked to Crush then wandered over to the Bug’s Life section of the park. This was the highlight of the day for Becca. Here there was water parks for her to run through, scream through and dodge other kids!! She had a wonderful time getting soaked to the bone and totally did not want to leave! One of the other moms in the area asked me if I had thought to bring spare clothes….Oh yeah!! Becca near any water and I need extra clothes so I was totally prepared!!!

Once in dry clothes Becca zonked out in the stroller. It had already been a long day forBecca both of us, so I let her sleep while I browsed the shops in Downtown Disney. It was rather relaxing wandering about after all the crazy park stuff. Then I discovered I could walk to the parkade rather than waking Becca to go on the tram.

UGH! Yeah remember how it was a relaxing drive there? Umm yeah it took us 40 minutes to get there and 2 hours and 20 minutes to get home!! We were driving 5 miles an hour for 10 miles!! It was insane traffic!! So while at a complete stop waiting for traffic I took pics of Becca!! She was not impressed!! Although I thought it was hilarious!!

J beat us home and had supper ready for us (luckily it was leftover day!) I am beat, sun burnt, dehydrated and totally can not wait to go back to Disneyland with Becca! I knew living in California would have its perks!

Pic of the Day ~ Becca, Starbucks and Palm Trees!

Becca and StarbucksWe went to the DMV today. I had nightmares of scary dudes with tentacles behind the desk eating us whole, spitting us out and telling us we cannot register the new car. We showed up a little early, were seen right away, he processed us and we were off!! I did however see one tentacle poking out of his suit jacket!

Becca & I went for a wonderful walk to our local Starbucks for milk and a cookie. My dear sweet daughter walked ALL the way there AND back! I had the stroller with us as back up, however she was happy to walk along side me. It was awesome to watch her explore the world on her own two feet. I do not think she has ever walked that far before. My they sure do grow up fast! We also stopped at the bookstore next to the coffee shop. They have a wonderful children’s section set up with mini tables and chairs and stuffed animals everywhere.

My sweet daughter, felt that the bears, bunnies, lions and other stuffed animals needed story time. So she would place four around the table on chairs then place a book on the table and “read” to them! It was so adorable (and I ofcourse did not think of taking a picture!) We cleaned up after ourselves then proceeded to the checkout to buy “The Little Engine That Could”. While there I mentioned to the saleswoman that some of the animals and books may not be exactly where they were before we destroyed enjoyed their children’s section. The lady looked at me as if I was crazy, then said “Thanks most people just come in and leave it a mess”. I was shocked! Don’t all parents encourage and help their children clean up after themselves?

So how about this weather? eh? It was awesome today…26 C sunny, clear non-smoggy day, it was wonderful!!! Tomorrow is suppose to be warm too!! J & I are totally going to be in shorts tomorrow!! (Although “true” Californians will not be in shorts…still cool to them!)

Pic of the Day ~ Becca the Cutie…Never Afraid of a little Dirt!

becca outsidePhew today was a much better day. My head was not all foggy like it was yesterday. That was annoying. Becca & I went to get insurance on the new car, then hit the grocery store. Oh Becca received her first sucker while at the insurance place. Yeah no, mommy does not like suckers…Becca may think they are nifty, I sure do not like everything in the car sticky and sucker juice all over her pants!! Why do people insist on giving someone else’s kid candy? Next time someone offers I am tempted to offer them the kid while on a sugar high!!

I find it odd when working moms feel like they need to justify working to me. Seriously, to all the working moms out there, I respect you! I have no idea how you balance it all! I am in awe of you, so please do not tell me about your mortgage payments and the car payments. It seems as soon as a working mom finds out I am a stay at home mom, they need to justify their choice. I feel no obligation to justify my decision. Do what works for ya!

Becca played outside today for the first time in a while. This cold seems to be sticking to her like glue. Most colds like to bug her for a while, but this one seems to be a doozer. J & I keep fighting it off too and it is exhausting!

Now that we are on the topic of sleep..how much are you getting?? Lately we are in bed by 10 pm?!?!? What is up with that??? What happened to late nights? Do they ever some back?? And I mean staying up and not feeling like hell the next day….*sigh*

DMV tomorrow…*shudders* Pray for us!
