Pic of the Day ~ Becca at the Beach in San Diego

We had a bum around day, giving me the opprotunity to do laundry, pay some bills and veg out!

Becca had a wonderful time playing with Grandpa outside before lunch. Then took a nice long nap (so did Grandpa!) I had the chance to catch up on the blogging world and Spymac. Once Becca was up from her nap (Grandpa kept on a snoring hehe), we read some books and played like crazy. I think Becca missed her toys and her room! It was nice to watch her play!

UGH! We do not have water….AGAIN! Totally annoying!!

My Dad is looking at accessories for his new Video IPod. He is turning into a regular Apple junkie ! So we are heading to the Apple store again tomorrow morning!! HAHAH!

I am so loving having my Dad here…So sad that in a few days he will be flying back to Canada . I wonder if there is room in his suitcase for Becca and I???

I am slowing getting some designs ready…drawings and the like too!!! I have so much in store for the next year!!! Anyway, enjoy the new theme! Friday ~ Ok so we did not leave as early as we had intended but it all worked out! We headed to San Diego around 11 am and cruised to the Coastal highway. We ate a nice lunch of buns and juices boxes as we say the sights. Not long after finishing her lunch, Becca went to sleep for the entire trip! We were able to peak at the ocean between houses and along short stretches of public land. It is so beautiful!

Upon arriving in San Diego, we found our hotel and checked in. OMG! It is so swank! Totally not the local Super 8! It is fun to be all spoiled for the weekend (especially since J & I could never afford a weekend trip like this without my Dad’s help! Thanks Dad!)

We decided to take a dip in the pool, before dinner. It was an outdoor pool, however well heated so cool for Becca. At first she reacted like she did last time, all freaked out. Then my Dad swam over and took her for a swim and she loved the rest of the time in the pool!! It was so cool!

Once inside, I took a bath in our UBER deep tub….OMFG! It was awesome! Becca was a little freaked about the depth of the pool and refused to join me! Even my Dad took a bath in his tub!! We order room service (something I have never done). It was so cool they rolled it in on a table…JUST LIKE THE MOVIES!!! California is so cool! Anyway, we all pigged out on great food, then decided to go out for a walk. After bundling Becca up so she would not catch a chill in the cool ocean air we were off!

Everyone that spotted us looked at us a little strangely, but not matter it was an amazing walk. We walked along the marina then along the beach….Ahhh the beach at night. Becca was in awe of the waves coming crashing onto the sand….It was amazing. Creepy too though…While we were standing on the beach all the lights went out! It was freaky. So we headed back to the hotel.

OMG so ever the moment you wish you were video taping your child!!! We were on the balcony looking out on the bay when Becca decides she is heading back inside and hit the patio door full throttle not realizing it was CLOSED!!! My Dad & I are cruel and could not stop giggling, she did not cry but looked rather stunned!! It was so funny! Later she always slowed down at the door and checked with her hands!!! Too cute! Later that evening J went to go talk to my Dad on the patio and seriously SLAMED into the patio door too!! Like Father like Daughter! HAHAHA!!! Talk about uber clean windows!

When it was bath time, Becca was still unnerved about the depth of the tub but made it through the basic washing. She seems to have settled down ok for the night!

The frikin fancy hotel is charging a daily fee for internet access….grrr sure there are robes in the room but what about bloggers?!?!?! So if I find a hotspot or a Starbucks this will find you guys on Saturday. If not Monday when we get back! Miss you!!!

Saturday ~ We went to Seaworld. It was a wonderful day, we wandered, took in a few shows (like you can’t see Shamu when you are there?!?!). Becca totally loved the fish, however really enjoyed the penguins. She was in awe to see so many. It was so cool! Her Grandpa even bought her a stuffed penguin to take home, which pleased Becca so much! Becca fell asleep at the whale show in J’s arms, and was easily tranfered to the stroller and slept awesome! It was a relief that she slept so well! Once again we enjoyed room service for dinner…Mmmmm! Becca was still a little nervous about the hotel tub but got used to it the second time around and enjoyed it the next two nights!

Sunday ~ We headed over to the U.S.S. Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, and toured the ship and let Becca run, run, run! She loved the airplanes on the flight deck and enjoyed going into the helicopters. Once we finished the tour, we headed over to the Seaport Village to sight see and browse. We had lunch there and then intended to drive over to Point Loma’s Cabrillo Monument, however Becca fell asleep in the car and we wanted to let her sleep. Instead we drove around that area and toured the beaches and such. I was a little disappointed that we did not see Point Loma’s Cabrillo Monument but it all worked out. We headed back to the area of our hotel and stopped at the State Beach across the way. Becca was awake by this time and we all went walking on the beach! OMG!!!! It was so awesome to watch Becca explore the beach and ocean for the first time! She was pretty freaked out at first and the water was freezing!!!! We had such a wonderful time at the beach!!

Then we went back to the hotel and changed into our bathing suits and went swimming again! It was wonderful to swim with Becca and watch her enjoyment! Once back in the room, we order room service again!!! Totally spoiled this weekend! We vegged out and visited the rest of the evening.

Monday ~ Origanaly we intended on heading straight back to Riverside, instead we headed out to the San Diego Wild Animal Park! It was a great day, unfortunately Becca did not nap except for 15 minutes in the car before we hit the park! The animals were awesome to see and there was a lot of walking. All of us are exhausted!!!! Becca really liked all the birds and liked the ducks a lot!! (sure all the freeloaders, Becca loves). After a long day at the zoo, we finally fought rush hour traffic and made it HOME! It is so nice to be home, and J totally was in gear and got most of our stuff organized and put away. It was the perfect mini-vacation!! Relaxing, exciting, thrilling, calming and wonderful. Many thanks to my Dad for making it a great weekend for everyone!!!

Ok seriously, not having internet is relaxing and annoying at the same time. We could have paid for it in our room, but by priniciple I refused. So I had a lot of time to think and ponder the lessons of life….hehe!

Missed my blogger firends and in the next couple days I hope to catch up with everyone!!!

Another busy day!! We cruised over to the Apple Store (although got crazy lost first and took forever to get there!!) We all drooled over the IMac G4’s and all the toys, then my Dad bought the 60G Ipod….OMG! It is so sweeetttt…I am so jealous My IPod Mini is so ancient!!

We picked up some lunch and cruised home. Becca went for a nap, however had some trouble settling down. Dad played with his IPod and I read the spymac.com forums. Once Becca was up we watched Madagascar, while J cooked dinner!!! It is like a vacation for me too!!!!

Tomorrow we hit the wide open road!! We are going to cruise to the coast then drive down Interstate 1 & 5 until we hit San Diego!!! We plan on stopping and site seeing along the way, especially so Becca can get out of the van! I started packing up the gear this evening, because as you know travelling with a toddler is not light!!!! You have the car seat, the stroller, the booster seat to eat, clothes and double od everything, bibs, sippy cups, snacks, books, blankets, stuffed animals….well the list goes on….will we use all of it? Maybe….Last time we travelled Becca was sick and we used all her extra clothes plus some!!! So we are going prepared!

I am hoping to blog while on our mini vacation, all depends on internet connections and hot spots. If I can find me a Starbucks I will post about the trip and some pics. If by chance we get too busy or I cannot find a spot we will be back Monday, so no worries.

Phew what a busy day!! We all got up with Becca for breakfast, then J headed to work. My Dad & I got ready for the day and headed over to the mall to browse around. My Dad was all excited about all the selection here in Southern California…..Being that he lives in a SMALL town in Saskchewon, one can not blame him for getting all excited. My Dad is so cool He bought like 4 shirts at American Eagle !!! The sales people were a little surprised he was the one shopping and not me!! Then he was all friendly and joking around with them….They stared at us as we walked out of the store, & they giggled while he was there!!! hehe too cute!

Becca was a tired camper today!! I think since she did not have a good nap yesterday and all the excitement of Grandpa being here & chasing her through the house, she was tuckered out. So she had a 3.5 hour nap this afternoon!!!

Once Becca was up, we cruised over to the university to pick up J & CHINESE FOOD!!!! My Dad wanted to eat it out of the cool “movie boxes” too! Mmm it was so yummy! After Becca was in bed, J & my Dad played a little PS2 and now we are just chatting away!

Oooo tomorrow we are going to the APPLE STORE!!! I am so excited. My Dad wants to look at the IPods…hehe we are converting him!!!! EVIL KIDS!!!

W00t w00t! So Becca & I spent the morning cleaning and polishing everything up. Time seemed to stand still as I waited for the time to leave! Finally we prepared to leave to pick up my Dad!!!

Becca was pretty shy with him at the airport. However, after my Dad rescued Pooh Bear from falling to the floor and handed Becca a few french fries, she was pals with him!! I even had to run to the car once we were home and she stayed in the apartment with him with no fuss. During dinner she charmed him with smiles and goofiness! Then they played on the floor together. I am so relieved and happy that she has warmed up to him so well! She still says “No” when he asks to pick her up but we have ten days to win her over!

It is so awesome to have my Dad here. We spent the evening listening to tunes and enjoying each other’s company. YAY My Dad’s here!!
