My New Year’s Resolution is to enjoy California living from the Canadian perspective with my amazing 18 month old daughter, Becca & my fantasic husband J. We are not here for long, however I would like to make it an experience we will remember forever.

To accomplish this we have a list of place we must see:

1. Death Valley
2. LA
3. San Diego
4. Las Vegas (again)
5. Disneyland (again)
6. Legoland
7. San Diego’s Wild life Zoo
8. LA Zoo
9. And shop shop shop!!

Pic of the Day ~ Becca on this Rainy Day in California

Aloha! Ok my child is starting to show signs of sensitivity. While watching her favorite television program, “Dora the Explorer”, Becca started getting extremely anxious. Now I would like to note that, normally Dora only brings my child much joy & happiness or else I would not allow her to view it. However, one episode (actually only one scene in that episode) freaks poor little Becca completely out! It is the frog episode. Part of Dora’s adventure is to go through the Echo Bush (I tried to find a picture of this demon Echo Bush but could not find one), everytime Dora & her trusty side-kick Boots have to go through the Echo Bush Becca goes into hysterics!! This morning she ran over to J & J had to hold her until Dora was safely throught the echo bush and well on her way. It is so scary to watch her react so strongly to this character!!! Poor kid must think the Echo Bush is going to eat her beloved Dora!! I am sure if Becca has nightmares, they would include the demon Echo Bush. Ironically, when J was searching for a picture of the Echo Bush, he found this link to Amazon.com where another mother expressed concerns that her child too got upset when seeing the episode with the dreaded Echo Bush. Crazy, eh?

Geeks’R'Us and we are still all addicted to the PS2 game We are on the final level, so we may complete it before the New Year!

I worked on the new theme for this blog today. I am so damn tooting proud of myself. I finally coded my own theme. My head is still spinning from all the code I looked at and all the re-dos and uploads I did on the server. Thank goodness it is the end of the month because I am sure we are close to our upload limit on our server If your browser did not automatically refresh to the new theme Corset. Check out the Theme Switcher and come on over. I think it is beautiful, however I am very biased since it is my baby

Mmmm so we had our New Years Eve treat of Chinese Food…Mmmmm…I am such a geek. As I have mentioned before I totally love the take-out containers we get here in California *sigh* Just like the ones you see in the movies…..So ofcourse I had to take a picture!!!

Onto the subject of Wordpress 2.0….For those of you that are not into the whole geek thing skip this part for it will be dreadfully boring….I had upgraded to WP2.0 a few days ago and was disappointed to discover two errors that I found. #1 My comments remained at 0 no matter how many comments were left. This hurt my ego seeing 0 comments Long & behold I was not alone & it had to do with my Spam plugin not compatible…blah blah blah…So I deactivate and I am trying out the new Akismet Plugin that came with WP2.0. #2 No matter what I tried I could not seem to upload pictures through WP. This was the one feature I was really excited about. As you all know I post a pic a day, so this was a major bonus for me. After posting on the WP support forums, I finally got it all sorted out. YAY!~

All in all a GREAT day for me & Wordpress!!! New Theme….Not broken….I am content. And I already have some new ideas for the next theme end of geekness.

Finally I want to do a shoutout to Marz who started her first blog!!! We will convert the non-believers and some day blogger will rule the world! So make sure you stop by Marz’s blog and say HI!

J & I are definately taking advantage of our holidays Once again we were up late playing PS2, then at it again while Becca napped today.

Becca is growing so much! I think she is going to take after her Daddy and be uber tall! She is outgrowing her clothes at an alarming rate. It seems even faster than when she was wee little! I have been holding off buying clothes, waiting for spring to arrive (lol wishful thinking on my part eh?). Instead it looks like I will be going out and picking up a few things to tide us over.

I cannot believe tomorrow is New Years Eve!!! J & I are planning to order chinese and ring in the New Year together. Probably get sloshed and fall asleep before midnight, lol! Becca will be heading to bed at her regular time. Since she has no clue about New Years there is little purpose ruining her schedule.

OMG! So yeah Becca was awake again last night around midnight. How weird is that? She does not get out of bed and is not loud, just awake, talks a little & shuffles around. Odd child!?

hehe! Once again J & I were up until almost midnight playing that silly game. It is nice to have something to do together but the addiction is crazy!!! Gawd, I even dreamed about the game!!

As we were heading to bed, we heard Becca stirring in her room. I CANNOT go to sleep without checking in on her, but we were worried if I went in she would want to stay up or cry. Finally I headed in, there she was sitting in her bed happily. I attempted to tuck her in, however that just upset her. I have no idea when she fell back to sleep for I drifted off and she was still up. We still have a monitor in her room and we could hear her creaking or jumping on the bed or something. I have no idea what that girl was up to but she stayed in bed. Only my crazy daughter!

We had another lazy day, just enjoying each other’s company. My Dad is making arrangements to come to see us at the end of January. I cannot wait to see him again!!! We are planning a trip to San Diego when he is here so that will be tons of fun!!!

I am still plucking at away at the new theme *sigh* It will get done…..soon….I hope. If I was not such a prefectionist…..*sigh*
