Pic of the Day ~ Becca Upside Down

Well I worked this morning, then cruised home to be with Becca. I decided to walk J to work. That did not turn out so good We all got to the university and a storm hit! It was totally torrential rain!! So Becca and I sought out protection in the university for a while but it did not look like it was going to let up. So we braved the storm and walked home. lol! Becca was all guarded in her stroller, I however was drenched by the time we got home! We dried off and changed into warm comfy clothes. Had a nice snack and both took a nap

I feel like I have totally lost my drive to complete the design theme I was working on I am emotionally tapped out by the time I am able to work on it. *sigh* It will be complete some day

Becca had a hard time falling asleep tonight As usual, she nursed and was totally asleep, then all of a sudden she was wide awake. We tried rocking her, tried nursing again & then rocking. Nothing seemed to help. She did not appear in distress or discomfort, just awake. J & Becca played hard core on the floor before snack & bathtime, so it was not that she wasn’t tuckered out. So we attempted the whole cry it out thing again. The little thing cried 3/4 of an hour then I just could not take it anymore. I seriously think it just does not work for her. She gets so upset and tense, it take 20 minutes just to calm her down then another to get her to fall asleep. Then if she does wake up she is all upset all over again. J is asking me when we stop rocking her to sleep. My gut sayd she will let us know when she is ready, that she won’t be 10 years old and need her moomy & daddy to rock her to sleep, but at the same time I want her to be able to fall asleep on her own. *sigh* No one said this parenting thing was easy. I just want her to be happy and develop security and a strong sense of self.

I am off to read…..I need to unwind!

Ok so we tried Becca on one nap a day, figuring hey she is getting older maybe she only needs one nap….ummm no! She totally still needs a nice morning nap and afternoon nap!!

We went shopping yesterday after I woke up, I was excited I am down yet another size!!! I am almost at pre-pregnancy weight…w00t w00t (although that was not supurb it is progress). I so have no energy to put into losing weight at the moment. Between work, Becca, J & packing I seriosuly have nothing left. I am tapped out!

Talked to Monique on the telephone last night. I uber miss that chica!! Lives have a funny way of taking different paths. So many come & go….but family sticks to ya!! It was so fun talking Harry Potter & babies. Plus, Monique & I collide a lot on baby raising philosophies, which is so cool! She’s a wicked cool mom and will be an amazing nurse!

Becca is totally attempting to feed herself with a spoon!! It is so exciting to watch her try to scoop up the food, then coordinate it into her mouth. We have “Little Dippers” which are essencially spoons with fun grips and a little easier to manage. She likes those! We are also trying to get her to drink from a cup, however a lot of milk is still being slopped!

OMG! Becca is also totally saying “yes” and nodding her head. I guess J has been working with her on it for a while now, but today she totally got it. After dinner I asked her if she wanted to go outside and she proclaimed quite clearly “YES!” it was soooo cute!

I totally need to develop pictures more often (that or take less pictures….nah ) I have to take our pictures in to be developed in stages. Not only does our memory card only hold 100, Shoppers only allows you to print 99 at a time

I cleaned the house up a little today. It is so hard to keep up with working and packing. Not that one could tell I tidied up after hurricane rebecca swept through the kitchen and emptied all the cupboards. That gal is convinced the cupboards need reorganizing everyday. *sigh* what a chica!

Becca and I went for a walk this afternoon. She rode in the backpack since it shades her well. It is seriously way too hot here. The guy next door said it was 100 degrees!!! Thank goodness California is not muggy like this. Reading stats on Riverside, it only rains an average of 3x a year!! That is less than the prairies!!! Craziness!

After dinner, J & I took Becca to the park, she walked with our help half way there. It was cool! Then she climbed all the stairs at the playground and even went part way down the slide by herself!!! My Baby is growing up It is so conflicting. Part of me wants her to stay little and sweet forever and the other part totally wants her to grow up and become an indepent little girl. Normal right?

Pic of the Day ~ Becca With Her Pebbles hairstyle!

hehe…Becca still has very little hair. Once I accepted that we were having a girl (I so wanted a Boy, sorry Becca ), I got excited about styling a little girl’s hair and dressing her all stylin. LOL! Then along came Becca, bald as an eagle for 7 months and still growing that hair slowly. Well about a month ago I discovered I had one option to style Becca’s sparse locks, the Pebble’s look

Now that the weekend is almost over, I am starting to feel like myself again. Working the midnight shift 2x a week sends me for a loop. This weekend especially, I found myself all feeling sorry for myself and all shut down. So I watch Buffy DVD’s and engrossed myself in a book (w00t finished Harry Potter…umm wow!). Part of me relishes the “break” from it all. The other part, the stronger part, misses Becca and J so much. I long to have the comfort of the routine that Becca and I have developed over the last year. *sigh* 4 more weeks keeps looping through my brain as a constant reminder that this state of being is only temporary.

It was so sweet. I recieved an email from my Grandma. She stated how much she enjoyed my blog. It made me feel all warm & fuzzy that she enjoyed it so much. To quote her …

HAVE TO TELL YOU I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE IT IS LIKE LIVING NEXT DOOR TO YOU

hehe, yes my Grandma coresponds in cap locks, but she is in her 80’s and emails, surfs the net and is the best computer scrable player ever!

All this got me thinking about my Dad. I am so bursting with pride, when I think about my Dad. He has become an amazing presence in our lives. My Dad has come a long way since he found himself single again. It seriously crushed him that his marriage dissolved. It may sound horrible, but he is a better man without his ex-wife in his life. He has become, once again the man & father I knew as a child. Through my innocent eyes my Dad was ominous, caring and practically perfect in everyway (thank you Mary Poppins for the saying). It is my hope that Becca sees her father the way I see mine. Love you Dad.

YAY! Only 4 more weeks of work

J booked the uhaul today…and we have done a ton of packing.

Becca was awesome this afternoon and evening. I adore spending time with her!!

Poor J, Becca had a rough night last night and ended up sleeping with him and he only got 4 hours of sleep. I hope tonight is better for them!

UGH! I have work to do…..back to normal tomorrow!!!
