Yay! We are on vacation! We were up early, ready and organized when Jenny came to take us to the airport. It seemed like we had perfect timing. We checked in, went through security & pre-boarded the plane! It rocked! Becca even walked through security, one hand holding mine and the other holding J’s. It was so sweet.

Becca is a super flyer, we didn’t even administer a decongestant this time and she was great! During the flight Becca was hypnotisized by the mini tv’s on the back of every seat. I tried to let her listen through my eyephones but she just fond that annoying.

Awww it was so sweet when we arrived in Calgary, my Mother-in-law and father-in-law where waiting anxiously for us. My poor Mother-in-law (MIL) wanted so badly to scoop Becca in her arms and snuggle her! But Becca is a little shy and we needed to give her time to get used to everything.

The drive down frm Calgary seemed to take forever. But we decided to stop in Vulcan (lol I know only in Alberta) to take a rest and stretch our legs. Well being that we stopped at the UFO, I thought it would be cool to take some photos of Becca with the UFO and aliens………OMG WE FORGOT THE CAMERA ON THE FRIKIN PLANE!!!! I was so scared it was gone forever. How would I post a pic of the day without our camera??? Well J called Westjet and they had it in their lost and found, but would said it was not secure there because there was no safe or lock up or anything. So J phone Purerlator and they will be delivering the camera from the airport to J’s parents house on Monday!!! *sigh* Only we would leave the camera onboard……

Once settled at the in-laws, Becca seemed to get comfy and totally let my MIL hold her and play with her….it was so sweet tot watch. MIL even had some toys all set out for Becca to play with while she is here.

I meet up with Sheila tomorrow morning for coffee, then we are having an early First Birthday Party for Becca!!!!!!

Everyone is totally beat here and we are all crashing early….I am frikin exhausted…have been up since 5 am eastern!!….off to dream sweet….

We are off for vacation first thing tomorrow morning. I am going to try to blog daily & post pics, since J is bringing his laptop. Time permitting ofcourse =P I spent the day packing, cleaning and updating Izzy the Ipod.

w00t! I was worried that my iroadtrip would not arrive before we went on vacation but it came today. I am so excited to try it out but my cigarette lighter isn’t working (who knew?)….grrr….So J promised to fix it when we get back from our vacation. He is such a sweetie.

I can hardly wait to see everyone! We go to J’s parent’s place first then on CanadaDay, we head to my Dad’s. I am meeting up with some friends when we are in Lethbridge too!! OMG I can hardly wait!! I am going to try to get to bed early tonight so I am all rested for our trip!!!!

Becca was a little needy and clingy today (making packing and cleaning difficult), but I have been such a mess emotionally the last couple of days, with Sidney leaving us and all….I just felt ok about everything because Becca will be the center of attention for 10 days =P

I talked to Trina again tonight. Sidney seems to be adjusting well to the farm. Trina said she whined to get in the house a couple times, but other than that she is doing good. What a trooper! I miss her!

Ok Becca said another word tonight….”light”, she pointed at the lamp and said “light” light”…J was so excited!!! What a cool kid!

*sigh* What a day. I totally thought that I mentally prepared myself for the day that SIdney would leave. Pffffffffftttttttt I so was overwhelmed with sadness, it was so hard to get through the day. I tried so hard not to let on to Becca that I was dying on the inside. She would say “daagg” at lunch and I would run to the bathroom and cry. I miss my dog!!

I tried Uber hard to stay busy today. I worked my tail feathers off but alas got very little done towards being prepared for our vacation. *sigh* I think Becca and I will have to skip our playdate so that we can pack, clean and be all prepared for our early flight Friday.

Ugh, twice this week I will have to be awake by 5 am *shudders* . Last night I avoided sleep, hoping that today would not come if I did not fall asleep. It didn’t work. *cries*

I called Trina to get a status report on Sidney. She arried an hour late but happy and not anxious (YAY! for doggie drugs). Trina took her out to the farm and introduced her to Jack and Hooch (Trina’s dogs). The dogs were looking out for Sidney, making sure she did not venture too far from the house and showing her around. It is so sweet, Trina & Cal built Sidney her own dog house!!!! She is going to be so happy there. I have no doubts about that, I just miss my dog….

Becca was an angel today. She seemed completely unaffect by her mommy’s emotional breakdowns. Maybe she is too young to understand that when mommy cries she is sad….needless to say I was relieved that Becca remained happy and content.

I am still formatting and playing around with this new theme “Reflections”….I LOVE IT! The layout rocks and I love the PINK..hehe

Sidney is flying off the Trina’s place as I type this. J & I got up early, and while J got ready, Sid and I played outside. J took her to the airport. He said that Sid was calm and was not totally anxious. We have cried a ton already this morning. That dog ate my favorite pair of boots, overalls and so many other clothes, peed on the floor whenever someone came over,would bark at the neighbours everytime and chew on my cat…..but geez we loved her!! I totally know that this is the best alternative for everyone. *sigh* We would have lived in the projects in order to afford a house in California. And Sidney in her heart was a farm dog. She adapted to city living amazingly well, but it took a long time for her to be a city dog. Sidney is going to be happy living with 2 other dogs, being able to roam freely, and bark if she feels like barking. She will be able to chase the farm cats and gophers; worship Cal and Trina….the way she worshipped us…..Can I can say I loved my dog; But my Dog Loved me! I am off to pack up Sid’s stuff, so I do not have to suffer through it later….Thanks to everyone that has sent hugz, all the hugz have been used and greatly appreciated…..
It is so quiet in the house, no one getting under my feet, no one sitting at my feet as I read Becca a story….I packed up Sidney’s stuff, that was hard to do *tear* I am trying to keep busy so I do not dwell on the loss….

Tonight is Sidney’s last night being our dog. Tomorrow night Sidney will fall asleep under the Saskatchewan stars, happily settling into Trina & Cal’s family. *cries* I have been tearing it up all day, knowing it will be our last together. I try to hide the fact that I am miserable from Becca, but alas I think both Becca & Sidney know something terrible is about to happen. *wipes tears* Sidney & I snuggled while Becca napped this afternoon. Sidney has been a great dog to me, always there when I needed her and always listened to my rants. OMG I am going to miss my dog!! I would have never survived Windsor in the early days without my dog. She gave me the courage to venture out and explore the city……Tomorrow morning J is going to drive Sidney to the airport, while I stay home with Becca….I am off to cry…..Good Bye to my best friend, my companion, My Dog…..
